About this sitter

Hello, I am a active, pickleball playing person, who sold my house and Airbnb Business in December of 2022. I've decided to offer to help out with house, pet and plant care for a small fee. For people living in Sebastopol, where I live at the moment, I also offer Day Care. I can visit and love up your kitties, water, take in the mail, etc without living in your home, if you will be gone for a short period of time. I also can move into your home, of course, for longer stays.

I love animals, watering plants, reading, cooking, playing cards and playing pickleball. I have built and designed my own properties, and am confident when taking good care of home and garden and pets. I would be so pleased to be your next house sitter!

I have been the lucky homeowner who has experienced many house sitters from MindMyHouse in the past! I've enjoyed getting to know my sitters and I'm ready to start my new adventure taking care of other people's home, pets and gardens so they may have worry-free travel time! I come with my dog Daisy. She is a mellow, quiet girl who is non-destructive, flea treated and gets along with dogs and cats. She is not allowed on furniture, and works for free.

Why they want to house sit

I am thrilled to have sold my properties in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico so that I can begin my next adventure...basically to explore California and re-acquaint myself to all the things I love about it. You see, about a decade ago, I retired and moved from Marin County, to Mexico, when my children graduated UC Berkeley, and went in their own directions! Rather than have one place to be, I am venturing into this experience with an open mind. I will enjoy positions as short as 7 days if in Marin or Sonoma Counties, to as long as ...well, probably for as long as you need me. To me, the longer my stay, the better it is! I can travel anywhere in California or even Oregon for long stays. In Southern California, I'm mostly interested in Santa Barbara, Ojai, Burbank and Simi Valley because they are near family.

Their experience

Actually, yes, I've house sat, but mostly I've travelled and had other people take care of my home and pets and garden. The thing is...when I was not travelling, I was the one caring for house, garden and pets! So YES, boy do I have experience! I am very willing to get a police check up, and personal referral letters from outside mindmyhouse, if needbe.

What can they bring to the assignment

A lot of life experience, 30 years of being a real estate agent and broker in the SF Bay Area, good common sense, experience designing and building homes, and yes, I know how to light a hot water heater without help. I've been a SuperHost for many years before selling my property in Mexico, and can help watching your rentals whilst you are away.

I'm a very healthy and responsible person who is quiet and respectful of your things, your home, and your pets, and expectations. Until lately, I've always owned my own home, and had dogs and cats most of my life. In Mexico (as well as in California), I've designed and built houses. I'm a cat lover and a dog lover, and I've never had the pleasure of having chickens, but it's a life-long wish. I won't call myself a master gardener, because I've not done what's necessary to get that designation, but I love gardens and house plants and know how to care for them. I am a home-grown Californian, Born in Los Angeles, and raised my son and daughter in Marin County. If you want a respectful, clean, quiet person who is responsible and trustworthy in your home while you're away, you will not be disappointed with me!
