About this sitter

I am a 60 year old creative optimist, looking to care for dogs, cats, other pets and homes. Bringing you peace of mind while away, by loving and caring for them as my own.
I mostly grew up at a farm, close to my home, with cats, dog, chickens, goats, cows and even a farmer’s horse. As an adolescent, horseback riding and youth movement became my main hobbies, financed by babysitting on Saturday nights from the age of 15.
My friends describe me as responsable, handy, discrete and perseverant. I’m an avid learner and love to receive feedback from others. I am a good problem solver and not afraid to seek help and I like to help others.
I speak Dutch, French, English and Spanish well, and some German. Non smoker.
I have a grown up daughter and son, and after +30 years working for IBM, I m ready to fly out myself, taking on new responsibilities here from late fall to spring in warmer countries! In summer, I stay in Ostend, enjoying the seaside and my mother aged 86 lives then with me.
I will continue to spend several hours a week on remote consultancy assignments. I also spend time to volunteer projects. I'm an avid (digital) reader and have recently taken up golf again. I bring my car and can take pets in it as needed. With me, you can sleep on both ears and I’m eager to look after your home and pets, as your trusted sitter. Why they want to house sit

I love to travel, get to know new people and places. And I loooove cats and dogs and take care of them. Eager to live and learn about dog and cat breeds. This experience will, for sure, help me to find the best match when getting my own dog or will it be a cat, or both? At the same time house sitting is the ideal way to get to know new places from a local house.

Their experience

I mostly grew up at a farm, close to my home, with cats, dog, chicken, goats, cows and even a farmer’s horse.
When young, I also helped taking care of my best friend’s horses, I have been riding them for many years. More recently I did a super cat and home sit in France.
I’m an experienced DIY lady with a lot of building knowledge and am a home owner myself. My whole family has been building and rebuilding, and I’ve had ‘screwdrivers’ experience since a child. Later complemented by a computer keyboard.

What can they bring to the assignment

I have lived in a variety of places and used to be on my own. I easily adapt to new places, I’m not afraid of asking, if I want to learn or don’t know about something. I know about electricity, computers, swimming pools, solar panel installations, building maintenance, etc.
I love taking care of animals and not afraid of the sometimes dirty part of it.
