About this sitter

Hi! My name is Ali, I'm in my fifties; a mum of three and nanny to two granddaughters.
I've been travelling since 2018, and used THS for the last couple of years to meet new people, and spend time with their pets!

I'm the founder of a charity that helps teenage girls, as well as a business development consultant and writer. I love travelling, reading, and photography, as well as long walks and the outdoors (especially when it's sunny).

So far I've looked after cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, budgies, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, tortoises and sheep so far. I've administered medication to both cats and dogs, as well as looked after elderly pets who need a little more TLC.

I've house sat overseas in a variety of countries, and am comfortable in different cultures and temperatures.

I'm a fully insured, responsible, respectful, and non-smoking, single sitter, who would take extra good care of your home and the four legged, feathered, and watery members of your family.

I should also mention that I have extensive experience of Airbnb, staying in rooms, studios, apartments and houses, so I am very used to looking after the property I stay in, including any outside space. My Airbnb feedback is impeccable and I hope will assure you that I am the perfect person for your own sit.

As I work from home, I will need a stable, strong internet connection, and also a relatively quiet environment for occasional video calls.

Why they want to house sit

I live a rather nomadic life, travelling extensively overseas, so it's not possible for me to have a pet at this time. However, I love animals! (And I love to travel to new places). So house sitting works perfectly for me - I can spend time with animals of all kinds, in lovely places, and help someone else to travel too. Win/win.

I'm kind, caring and responsible and love animals of all kinds. Owners have remarked that nervous pets are particularly relaxed around me; eating and sleeping better, and generally comfortable in my presence.
I'm good with house stuff, so know how to deal with and are not particularly phased by electricity outages, minor plumbing issues, and the like.
