About this sitter

I am a fit 76 year old male who has owned and maintained both rural and urban homes. I have traveled extensively in Europe and Asia and in the US. When outside the US I travel to experience the culture and interact with locals. I do not patronize "tourist" destinations. Whenever possible I include home stays during the travel itinerary. I am hopeful that doing a long house sit will give me the opportunity to have an in depth cultural exposure.

Why they want to house sit

As I age it becomes more difficult to continue the type of non scripted travel that I have done in the past. I am hopeful that a house sit experience will give me a base from which to absorb the richness of a different environment, it's people, customs, music, history, and food without the demands of frequent movement.

Their experience

I have taken care of my own properties and have had animals to care for. As a young man I worked on a dairy farm. I continue to have a vegetable garden and can foods from it. I have many hobbies including cooking, brewing wine, backpacking, and enjoying music from folk to classical.

What can they bring to the assignment

I am reliable, and capable of taking care of your home and pets.
