About this sitter
Experienced homeowner, former pet mama, housesitter, and petsitter. Work part-time, entirely remotely. Home a lot to take care of your home and babies, while having a quiet place to consult/ coach/ write and some furry companionship. Why they want to house sit
I like a low maintenance lifestyle, with company, but also quiet for my work/writing, and I love exploring-- both nature and communities. I used to travel internationally quite often, but mostly in cities. Longer stays in homes and with pets, and in some smaller towns or rural settings, is quite appealing.
Their experience
I've done sitting off and on for decades-- small to large homes, short to long durations, mostly dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish and plants, I've been a homeowner. I've done co-housing. I've hosted people from all over the world in my homes over the years. I've had many pets of my own over the years, mostly dogs and cats. I've traveled a lot around the world, and rarely did the big hotel thing-- I've always been about meeting people and checking out different ways people live in different places. Yes, I love seeing the sights, but I'm more about experiencing ways of life and many aspects of cultures.

Melinda was wonderful
Melinda was wonderful, she left the space better than we left it. As a home owner herself she knew what to look out for and was very reliable and self sufficient when it came to the home. Unfortunately our dog passed right before the stay, but I know Ollie would have loved her and been well taken care of.

We were so happy to find Melinda
We were so happy to find Melinda! We clicked right away, communications were excellent (before, during and after) and our puppy was a very happy camper throughout! Returned to a clean house, healthy plants, & positive comments from the neighbors. Melinda was a true pro
Melinda was a true pro! Every interaction we had with her was top-notch, and our dogs couldn't have been happier. After our initial zoom and in-person meeting, we had zero reservations leaving our three beagles in Melinda's care. She obviously loves dogs, knows how to be with them, and cares deeply about their well-being. We thought her communication skills were excellent, too. It always seemed that just when we were thinking about our "babies", a photo would pop up in What's App! Melinda was also very flexible -- when we had to escape Tropical Storm Sara and return home a day earlier than expected, Melinda took it all in stride and had the house all ready for us when we got home. She stayed that night in a guest bedroom, and we had a fantastic morning getting to know each other over breakfast the next day! You won't regret having Melinda in your home. Your pets will thank you, too!

Awesome
We clicked with Melinda as soon as we met her. Our pup, Maya, was excited to meet her, and soon settled down, so we felt very comfortable leaving her with Melinda. The photos we received while traveling showed Maya relaxed and comfortable in her own environment, which was our goal. We returned to be greated by a healthy, happy pup. We are so grateful to have been introduced to Melinda, and highly recommend her as your sitter.

An ideal match
We were so blessed to have Melinda stay with our dog Tilly while we were away for 9 days. She was able to come for a meet and greet before her stay and we had time to go over home and garden care as well. Tilly adored her! Melinda had a natural ease with Tilly and was happy to take on the extra responsibility of watering a garden in summer. She was content to stay in our humble little house and take care of our girl. We arrived back to a tidy home and a vague sense that our quality of life had just gone up a notch! We received photos and texts too. All in all, Melinda was an ideal match.

Super awesome

She is a treasure
Melinda was a tremendously wonderful housesitter and best friend to George while I was away. The house was left clean, tidy, and well-cared for. George was calm and happy upon my return, which means he got plenty of exercise and care while I was away. Melinda was also easy to correspond with and sent just enough info about George to let me know and see that he was doing well. I can’t imagine this could have gone any better! If you have the chance, select Melinda for your vacation or business trip. She is a treasure!!!

Melinda is super friendly. Seems like Jasper was well taken care of. I would suggest she just send more updates/photo's of him and her time here. That's probably our fault as we should have set our expectation better as for how we like updates. House was clean upon return!

Melinda is another totally trustworthy, reliable, affable, responsible,, communicative and Aspen loving sitter. We felt so fortunate that she was caring for our Aspen and our home while we were away. Her knowledge of pets and her ability to immediately bond with Aspen made our departure extremely easy. When we returned, we knew that Aspen had been loved and cared for during our absence. We had a great experience with Melinda petsitting. We crossed wires (my mistake) on start date but once that was ironed out, Melinda was very self-sufficient during her stay and the house was tidy and clean when we returned. If you can get her!
I think my dog is in love with Melinda and I know we are beyond grateful! She was thorough, responsive, and the dog loved her. She worked hard to understand Lulu and her needs and desires and we returned to a very, very happy dog. The house was spotless. Absolutely no concerns. I told her, as I tell all our house sitters, that she could have company up (we are remote) but there were no signs of anyone around. I keep the house cleaner when we travel and she said it was spotless and that Lulu really liked her. There were a couple of snow challenges with the internet, etc. and she was the perfect person to trouble shoot, and get it fixed. All the snow areas were shoveled when I returned. If you can get her, I strongly recommend her. We've had five previous sitters and she's the top! She's welcome back here anytime!

Fabulous
Melinda stayed for 10 days with our border collie. Melinda did a fabulous job. She communicated with us ahead of time and arrived on time. She is a very friendly, warm person. She continued to communicate during the visit, sending us updates. She took very good care of Stella, trying to learn Stella's routines and likes/dislikes. Our neighbors commented that saw Melinda walking Stella often during the day. Stella seemed very happy and relaxed when we arrived home. Melinda kept the house clean. She washed her towels and sheets when she left, which we appreciated. She kept the kitchen clean and organized. We would highly recommend Melinda to others and would happily have her sit with Stella again.
