About this sitter
Tom and Norma are retired marketing executives with deep experience in home owning, hosting (Airbnb for 8 years, Super Host status), pet care (11 unique and rewarding assignments) and traveling (having visited 40 countries).
We are animal lovers (but travel too often to own any) and handy around a house, fixing light-maintenance projects and maintaining a clean, working home and property.
We love traveling, meeting people and the exchanges that happen.
Why they want to house sit
When we travel, we like to immerse ourselves in the culture and not be just tourists. House/pet sitting allows us to experience a place as a local as well as meet great people (hosts).

We have had 11 pet/house sit assignments assignments and have enjoyed each unique experience: from caring for 3 outdoor cats on a 10 acre area of a cattle ranch with mowing, gardening and general upkeep, to 2 senior dogs, 2 junior dogs and 14 cattle on a 52 acre property, to 2 indoor Siberian cats on a raw diet and outdoor birds. We are non-smokers, have an excellent credit rating and no criminal records.

Great husband and wife team
Summer 2022 was my first experience finding someone on MindMyHouse. We needed someone to stay with our pets and care for our house while we were gone for about 10 weeks. Norma and Tom are very experienced pet sitters and they made me feel very comfortable with the process. They have done housesitting on many occasions and they are also homeowners who are familiar and respectful of home care. I felt confident that they would be sensitive to my concerns. They arrived on time and kept us informed with pictures and texts during our travels. Norma took the lead in house care responsibilities and was very good at following our instructions and asking questions. We were never worried about our home or pets during our absence. We have a cat and two birds that require daily care and Norma and Tom were on task every day. We had a leak in our kitchen on a weekend that required attention until we could get it serviced. Norma kept on top of things and kept us updated on the situation. Upon our return, everything in the house was in good order and the pets were happy and healthy. They took great care to use all their own supplies and the house was nice and clean upon our return. I was grateful that they treated home and pet care seriously and appreciated that they are veteran travelers who keep busy and like exploring the area.

Highly Recommend!
We were so fortunate to have Norma and Tom stay in our home for a little over two months this past summer. We appreciated their communication leading up to their arrival and also while we were away. The updated us anytime something seemed different with our kitties and also reached with questions regarding preferred cleaning methods for special items around the house as they wanted to be careful not to damage anything. Our home was immaculate when we returned home. They even noticed that I liked fresh flowers and left me a fresh bouquet for when we returned home. So very thoughtful! What we most appreciative of was their thoughtful care when a tropical storm passed through the area. We felt badly that they had to deal with this unforeseen event, but they prepared our home, the kitties, and the outdoor area without a blink of an eye (maybe even better than we would have!) We couldn't give this couple a more glowing review! We are so happy they enjoyed the area and our local beaches while they were here & we welcome them back anytime.

Impeccable!
Norma and Tom did a marvelous job of caring for our large home, our two cats, and all the little details for a 3 week period while we were out of the country. I recommend them 100%!

Fabulous!
I highly recommend Norma and Tom as conscientious, considerate, and dependable house sitters. They cared for our home as if it were their own and provided updates to let us know all was well. Norma is a top-notch communicator and Tom is a total dog lover. We returned to happy pets and a spotless house. I would be delighted to have them stay again in the future!
