About this sitter

I’m in my 40s, living in Hungary and interested in petsits from the December 2025 onwards, mainly in the south of Europe.

I’m crazy about dogs, and also fond of other animals, especially cats, donkeys, goats and poultry, and I seem to have a special knack for understanding them.

At home I work as a dog-sitter, spending most of my time looking after other people's pets in their homes in various scenarios, whether it's a short or longer-term assignment, just a single dog or a whole pack of dogs and cats to take care of, in an urban or rural environment.

The people I've worked with know me as reliable and very responsible, sociable and helpful. I have a driving-licence and driving experience (shift-gear), and I'm an avid cyclist. Green surroundings in the countryside, away from loud street noise and busy cities is where I feel the happiest.

Ideally, I’d like to house-sit in an area where I do not get too isolated socially, but for a shorter sit I don't mind living in a far-off place, either.

I will take care of my own food while house-sitting. Being mostly vegetarian, I do appreciate having a freshfood market or grocery shop nearby, or local farmers to buy my veggies from.

I speak fluent English, basic Portuguese and German, and have a basic understanding of Italian and Spanish.

In my experience, transparent communication is essential in this kind of exchange. I need to know clearly what's expected from me as for the caretaking of the animals and the house, what the dos and donts are, or how much flexibility I have in decision-making in certain situations. I don't undertake a sit where I don't feel like I can perfectly take care of the tasks I'd be assigned with.

Why they want to house sit

I find it really rewarding to be helping out others while getting to know new places and people. Looking after the beloved pets of house owners gives a sweet purpose to my stay abroad.

After many years of being the occassional dog- and catsitter for my friends, then doing a few sits abroad through house-sitting sites, I now work as an in-home dog sitter full-time.

My experience of living in other people's homes goes back to my adventures as a Workaway and Helpx volunteer in my 30's, travelling around and volunteering on organic farms in Europe, helping out in people's gardens and with their animals.

I deeply appreciate and value the types of energy exchanges that form between people who are initially strangers and become closely connected through what they can offer to one another - in this case, a home on one side and care on the other.

What can they bring to the assignment

I'm bringing lots of tender loving care for all the animals and long walks for the pups! Especially love doing off-leash walks several times a day. But I can also take care of old dogs who need special attention and don't want to walk much, but would rather just be getting cuddles on the couch or relaxing around the house.

As a trained dog massage therapist I would love to offer my skills to help dogs with orthopedic rehabilitation, pain relief, or just for wellness purposes.

I'd also gladly do light gardening jobs if you have anything to plant, weed, prune, cut or harvest.

If you're looking for an organised and practical person who knows how to keep a house clean, tidy and cosy, is good at troubleshooting and fairly handy with tools - you've just found it!
