About this sitter

Hi! I’m Janet – I’m 36, Italian, and currently based in the Canary Islands, escaping the cold and soaking up all the sun I can. I work remotely in marketing and sound production, which means I’m online a lot… but also quiet, tidy, and very much used to adapting to different spaces and routines.

I’ve always been drawn to cozy environments, animals (especially cats!), and places with personality. I’m not one to rush – I like slow living, good coffee, and spaces that feel calm and cared for. That’s also how I treat the homes I live in: with full respect, and a genuine sense of gratitude.

I’m not traveling with a car, but I do have a license and can drive if needed. Ideally, I look for places that are walkable or connected by public transport. My only real “non-negotiables” are good internet (I work from home), and temperatures above “wool socks and hot water bottle” level :)

What I’m looking for in a house sit
- A warm climate – ideally somewhere I can wear a light sweater in winter and smile
- Fast, reliable internet
- A location that’s doable without a car, or where one is available

Why they want to house sit

Because I love the feeling of being "at home" in new places – not just passing through, but living them, slowly and meaningfully. I’m also a fan of cats and would honestly love the chance to care for yours. I've always wanted one, but the timing never worked out – so for now, I'm the cool cat aunt who spoils them while you're away.

This isn't just about travel – it’s also personal. These moments give me space to reflect, focus on myself, and refresh my perspective.

Their experience

While I’m new to house sitting through official platforms, I’ve often looked after friends’ homes, plants, and pets while they were away. I’ve also rented various places over the years, and my landlords have always been happy with how well I treated their homes – tidy, respectful, and just the way they left them, or better.

I genuinely enjoy taking care of the spaces I live in – it’s part of how I feel grounded and at peace. So even if I don’t have formal references yet (apart from those from my landlords), I bring real-life experience, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.
