About this sitter

My name is Jacqueline, a 47-years young life-loving Dutchie. I'm happy and cheerful, though quiet and tranquil. Used to be a social butterfly, but have turned inwards during the years, enjoying my own company a lot and not needing to 'do' life anymore, but mostly just 'be'. Since 2016 I'm house & pet sitting fulltime around the globe, combining my huge love for all kinds of pets and animals and my crazyness for cleaning. I work mostly online, as a freelance editor/writer, professional cleaner and organizing&decluttering coach. I started sitting together with my then-partner and after we parted ways, I've continued house-sitting by myself. The last couple of years, my close friend Ric (an ex-army firefighter, awesome handyman and great with dogs) sometimes joins me for sits, especially when they are longer or more remote. The last years I've mostly been doing recurrent sits, because I love returning to all my hairy foster friends. But in 2026 I'm opening the door to new adventures again, who knows to places I haven't been before. Preferably longer sits, minimum one month. Flexible to travel anywhere!

Why they want to house sit

Nothing in this life gives me as much joy, peace and happines as my love for animals and nature. Although... as crazy as it may sound, cleaning does too. And yeah, traveling and meeting new people and places as well. Once I found out I could combine these passions by becoming a fulltime house and pet sitter, I've not looked back. This is my destiny!

Their experience

Very experienced! I have always taken care of pets and houses when friends where on holiday and once my last cat crossed the rainbow bridge in 2016, I started sitting pets and houses though other networks and websites too. I've lost count, but it's over 70 houses and many more animals that I took care of, with a 100% satisfactory score. In 2024, I did a 4-month sit on an amazing island in the Indian Ocean with my friend Ric, where we took care of two big dogs, a tropical garden, a huge house and an AirBnB.rental unit. This year, I've been doing several sits with cats and dogs in The Netherlands, enjoying my own country for a while. Since most of my sits have been word-to-mouth and I do returning sits often, I hardly had to use paid platforms the last years. So I'm not an active member anymore on THS for instance and also don't really use MindMyHouse. I'm not actively searching for a place to sit as they always present themselves to me in the most curious ways. That's the beauty of this Universe, everything always flows! Due to the privacy of my clients I won't upload a document containing telephone numbers etc. here, but I'm more than happy to provide several (recent) references to you when we turn out to make a match.

What can they bring to the assignment

As I always do: my whole heart, body and soul! I assure you that when you return home, your pets have never been happier (and will probably be a little spoilt ;)) and your house has never looked cleaner and more organized (only where I'm allowed to of course, but deep-cleaning kitchens, perfectly folding sheets, removing dust and hair from places you didn't even know existed etcetera etcetera are what I do better than anyone). I'll pour my love over plants and gardens too. I will most probably do and give much more than expected or than I should, but my eternal gratefulness for getting to live a life doing the things I love most is something I will keep sharing as much as possible.
