I’m responsible, reliable, mature, nurturing and caring. A relaxed, animal loving, non smoker. Looking to explore more places, travel slowly and enjoy the company of animals along the way.

Mum to 3 wonderful adults and a grandmother of two girls and one beautiful little boy. I enjoy walking, reading, board games, nature and historical architecture. I’m definitely an Architecture and History buff!

For some assignments, I will be applying in conjunction with my 29 year-old daughter and her small, gentle dog – if this is the case, I will make this clear in my initial message. My daughter, Chanelle, has extensive experience with animals: with our pets and having volunteered at a dog shelter and wild animal rescue centre. Her dog, Angel, is nearly 8 years old and until recently lived peacefully with another small dog and a cat - both of whom sadly passed away due to old age last year – so we know she is compatible with cats and other dogs.

Why they want to house sit

Now that my children have flown the nest, I want to travel while sharing my life with more cats, dogs and everyone furry, feathered or finned whilst also experiencing what it’s like to live in your area, not just pass through.

Similarly, Chanelle wants to travel, spend time with animals and continue to learn about many different types of animal.

Their experience

I’ve looked after houses and pets for family members and friends and am looking for more … places … pets .... experiences. I have owned cats, dogs and fish throughout my childhood and while raising my children.

I have taken care of other people’s dogs, cats, fish, a hamster, small birds and a lizard!

Chanelle spent about 18 months volunteering at a shelter for stray and abandoned dogs, while living in Naples, Italy. She has also worked in a pet shop here in Britain, where she learnt about animal nutrition and general care, and volunteered with wildlife including baby mice, birds, hedgehogs, deer and foxes, at a rescue centre in Normandy, France. Last summer, she housesat for a cat for 6 weeks in Verona, Italy.

What can they bring to the assignment

A genuine love of animals and an appreciation of how much your pets and your home mean to you as I was a home owner and pet “Mummy” for decades, whilst my children were growing up.

Chanelle has inherited my passion for all animals, and has personal and professional experience looking after a variety of animals.
