About this sitter
We are home owners and have been pet owners who know and understand the dilemma of wanting to travel but not leave your home and pets unattended or in kennels. We are retired professionals, Gordon a 35 year sworn officer with the Police Service in Australia and myself a Behavioral Science professional and a Justice of the Peace.
We have had many pets over the years although currently we have none, and with our current lifestyle we won't have another for a while. This is where we become valuable to you, we'll look after your pets just like they are ours and we get to have the 'pet' experience again for a short time.
We have been exploring the world on and off since 2014
We spent over a year exploring China (and teaching English), South East Asia, a further 6 months in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Italy, house and pet sitting in France, Scotland and Wales. We departed Australia again in June 2018 and arrived back in Australia June 2019. That trip saw us house and pet sitting in Cyprus, France (several), Italy, Bulgaria and the Greek Islands, along the way we explored Switzerland, Romania and Turkey as well.
We had numerous house and pet sits booked during 2020 across Canada, but of course along came COVID 19 and all bookings were mutually cancelled. We would have cared for alpaca's, goats, chickens, dogs, cats and parrots.
2021 and with Australia locked down we explored our own country.
2022 we completed 6 weeks on Andros in the Greek Islands, a return sit for us and a favourite and a further 6 weeks in the Cylades.
Mid 2023 we spent 6 weeks in Canada during that time we looked after 'Merlin'. December 2023 2 weeks in country France looking after 2 dogs and 2 cats and 2 sits in Ireland with dogs and cats, dogs, cats and chickens in country England and a return to Andros in the Greek Islands in 2024 and a 5th return in 2025.
We are not bound by time frames and therefore flexible in where or how long we may stay in a particular location and we are happy to go anywhere. We are energetic and handy around the home and happy to maintain your house, gardens and lawns along with your pets and farm animals
As home owners we are used to looking after our property which includes pool and large gardens. We take pride in how our home looks.
We have reviews and testimonials currently on Trusted Housesitters. Due to letting our membership lapse on this site previous sit and reference has not registered. These can be provided.
Why they want to house sit
We love to travel but also like a 'home' environment which includes the routine of looking after animals and gardens. We get the home experience while exploring the world.

We are well experienced in international home and pet sitting. We have cared for country homes, chateaus, farm houses, suburban homes in a variety of settings. Gordon and Susan were the perfect sitters
Gordon and Susan were the perfect sitters. They arrived early giving more than enough time to familiarise them with the house and my quirky smart features as well as the garden and chooks. Comms were perfect before and during the sit with frequent updates on the animals and weather. Gordon even donned my wellies to retrieve a parcel when the river flooded blocking the road. The place was spotless on my return with even the boot room floor washed. They even remade their bed their bed before leaving.

A pleasure
Susan and Gordon were a pleasure to deal with. Great communicators, friendly and our dogs were very taken with them. They sent us pics of our girls out walking and cuddled up to them at home. They were respectful of our home and we returned to a clean and tidy house. We highly recommend them as house sitters.

Susan and Gordon really did an amazing job looking after Covie and Oreo. We really cannot recommend them enough. They went above and beyond to make sure that the animals were looked after, and that our home was cared for at the same time.

Susan and Gordon were delightful
Susan and Gordon were delightful and did a wonderful job looking after our home. On our return, the pets were happy, the house was clean and tidy and the garden looked fabulous! Communication was excellent - Susan kept us up to date with messages and photos. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in need of friendly and competent sitters!

Sue and Gordon arrived at our home 4 days before we were due to leave, due to travel arrangements. This could have been tense for both parties, but it became obvious pretty quickly that we established such a good relationship that we wouldn’t have minded not going away at all!!! They quite simply stepped very easily into our shoes, and looked after our home, animals and garden fantastically. Communication throughout was good, and we had no worries at all. We returned to a very clean house, happy pets and two new friends who had provided a great coming home meal. We spent another couple of days in each other’s company, which we all enjoyed, and were both very sad to say goodbye when they got on the ferry to Athens. I cannot recommend them highly enough, just great and I sincerely hope they will come back to visit us in the future, if not we may well travel down to Australia to visit them!!! Thank you so much Sue and Gordon, great new friends!!

Susan and Gordon are seriously the best house sitters you could wish for. We left them two weeks this summer in charge of my two demanding big dogs. Fantastic House Sitters
Fantastic House Sitters We couldn't have asked for better house sitters when we asked Susan and Gordon to come and stay in our house and look after our two pups, Max and Millie. From our first contact to their arrival date we kept in touch and they were so flexible when we had to slightly re-jig our dates. They arrived at our house a couple of days before we left, as agreed, and were at the house to welcome us home. Sue even cooked a wonderful dinner for us which was a real treat. The dogs seemed happy and the house was totally immaculate. What more could we have asked for! If you ever have the opportunity of having Susan and Gordon to sit for you, grab it with both hands. They are great!

Susan and Gordon are amazing
Susan and Gordon were booked in to look after our home and our Labrador Mila. Unfortunately my husband was hospitalised and we had to cancel our holidays. THIs all happened very close to their arrival date. They arrived, I explained the situation, and they were extremely understanding. They stayed with me a few days and then went into a self-catering cottage nearby. We kept in contact and they came back for dinner when my husband was released from hospital. They were caring, understanding and appreciative of all the effort we made on their behalf. Fortunately they picked up another sitter assignment to cover some of the time they should have been with us! Susan and Gordon are amazing....I would trust them with my home and my dog at any time and consider yourself extremely lucky if they can look after yours.
