About this sitter

Hi and nice to meet you! We are Michael and Amelia and we are new to Mindmyhouse. Michael is a Professor of Zoology at the University of Granada and Amelia works as remotely as a communications consultant in the US. We have been living in Granada for almost two years and are in the process of relocating to the Costa Tropical. Born in England but having grown up in Seville, Michael speaks fluent Spanish and English, as well as Italian and Portuguese. Amelia speaks fluent English and competent Spanish. We are looking for a house sit in Spain or Portugal from May to September, 2024; plants and animals very welcome! We are both experienced animal caregivers and passionate about nature and gardening. We are excellent problem-solvers and will take immaculate care of your home.

Why they want to house sit

We recently purchased a beach property in Costa Tropical and are in the process of renovating it. We are looking for housesitting in Spain or Portugal from May to September while we rent our duplex.

Their experience

Though we are new to Mindmyhouse, we are both experienced in housesitting for friends and relatives, including the care of dogs, cats, chickens, horses, donkeys, goats, cows, pigs and sheep. Amelia was a professional landscaper for years and Michael managed 16 hectres of land, as well as an orchard and vineyard, 35 cows and 6 pigs in Sardinia for four years.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are responsible, quiet, active and respectful professionals in our 40s. Michael speaks fluent Andalusian Spanish having grown up in Seville and can easily solve any issue that may arise with your home during the housesit. Both Michael and Amelia have extensive experience caring for animals and gardens throughout their lives. You can travel with the peace of mind knowing we can handle any challenge.
