About this sitter

I am a goofy (please note that the selfies where I look [let's just say] funny are photos I sent actual hosts as updates, I think having fun is an important part of life and I try to live by that as I sit) proud auntie of three adorable children who hung up the tourism boots when they were born and got back to freelancing full-time. Last year I decided to try combining my love for animals with my passion for travelling and the flexibility that comes with being self-employed, and I truly fell in love with the whole concept of being entrusted with both your home and your loved pets.

Why they want to house sit
This way I get my fix of travel, exposure to another culture/language, time alone to meditate, and hopefully cuddles and love from your furry babies if you have any!
Their experience
I have been sitting for a little over a year and a half so far, have done a total of 13 three-to-seven-week-long sits (5 of them for recurrent pawrents), taking care of a total of 8 dogs and 18 cats. I've sat in Portugal, Spain and Italy (Sicily) so far.
Apart from that I've been surrounded by animals my whole life (dogs, parrots and cats). I started doing this when my 13-year-old labrador passed away.
I have plenty of experience administering oral medication and taking care of dogs with leishmaniasis, hip dysplasia, cataracts, incontinence, heart medication. To ensure they get the best care I do not sit more than 3 canines.
PS: so far I have sat thanks to posts on certain Facebook groups. Hosts have left me their testimonials on Rover. I'll be happy to forward them to you if you can't access said site.
What can they bring to the assignment
Being a digital nomad and freelancer means not only that I will be working remotely from your home, but my working schedule will entirely revolve around your pets timetable and needs. I work when I am not walking them or caring for them :)

Super sitter
Cara was a wonderful choice for our 14 year old dog and a stray cat that had just given birth to 5 cute kittens which have all now been re homed .Cara just took it all.in her stride and kept her cool despite the stress of 6 extra pets and a problem with electrics (that's now sorted) and we loved having her care for them we would.not hesitate to recommend Cara she's a lovely lady and we hope to see.her.again soon .We came home to a happy house

Cara has taken care of our cat, house and garden for ten days and everything was great. She was great to talk to on our initial meeting, confident and practical, flexible when our start date moved and a good communicator through the stay. Daffodil was happy with her through the stay and relaxed on our return. The house was as we had left it and the garden had been well cared for.
