About this sitter

We are a house-sitting couple with 15+ years international experience. Housesitting is our preferred mode of travel as it gives us the company of pets and allows us the opportunity to really get to know the local community. I am a trained secondary school teacher and enjoy picking up a shift here and there on our travels. We tend to look for longer housesits with or without pets.

We love experiencing the varied cultures, history and sights of the world whilst caring for the homes and pets of others. It's a great way to travel. Housesitting allows us to experience different parts of the world from a local perspective. We enjoy the reciprocal trust and service involved in housesitting and gain personal satisfaction through providing peace of mind to home and petowners.

Their experience

We have over 15 years housesitting experience ranging from care-taking large estates and extensive gardens to small apartments and houseplants. We have cared for dogs, cats, chickens, aquarium fish, snakes, lizards, rabbits, guinea-pigs and hamsters, including elderly pets and those with special needs. We have professional backgrounds in health, teaching, hospitality and landscape gardening, and we also owned a home-cleaning business for 5 years.

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring enthusiasm and expertise to our housesitting assignments and treat the property of others with respect and care. We keep our homeowners updated on their pets and home with regular communication via email, Facebook and/or skype. Home owners can rest assured that their home will be kept clean and sparkling, pets will be be loved and cared for, and that any unexpected housekeeping/maintenance 'hiccups' will be efficiently and effectively handled. In addition, a welcome home pack complete with home-cooked meal and essentials will await their return.
