American Midwest Mother & Daughter looking for summer opportunity abroad

About this sitter

Siobhan (52) and daughter Truus (12) are a terrific package deal. We realized we're in a great place and time in our lives to explore a new way to travel while being useful during summer break! We love animals, making a house a home, caring for the outdoors, being near the water ... and traveling.

Why they want to house sit

We love to travel, have new experiences, and learn about other communities. I am now able to work remotely and our daughter is aging out of local summer activity options - which opens us up to longer summer stays and alternative travel opportunities.

Their experience

We are homeowners with pets, fruit trees, flower beds, koi pond and an older home with regular maintenance needs. I grew up on a farm in the Midwest - which translates to having a strong work ethic, being resourceful, and knowing a thing or two about gardening and animals. In my work, I have been responsible for a major construction project, ongoing building maintenance, and promoting sustainable building practices. I have housesat for friends over the years, including one with horses, birds, and goats!

What can they bring to the assignment

You'll get a caring, tidy, fun and attentive duo. We enjoy being self-sufficient, trustworthy, and responsible. We work well on projects together such as yard work, petsitting, volunteering on neighborhood clean up days - and also baking!
