About this sitter
I've lived in the Northwest US for most of my life, much of that time in the house my grandparents built. Growing up in the Columbia Gorge my family always had dogs, cats, horses, chickens and more.
Over the years I've had cats, chickens, and house bunnies, and for 8 years I worked with the local rabbit rescue teaching people how to foster and adopt bunnies. I'm retired, so my time is my own. I don't have any pets now, and miss having them, which is one reason I enjoy pet and house sitting.
I keep active with yoga, traveling and hiking, and I like to read and cook. I'm quiet, tidy and self-reliant. I'm fully vaccinated and boosted, don't smoke and I have a car.
Why they want to house sit
I'm taking the opportunity now to travel, meet new people and enjoy making friends with companion animals while learning about interesting areas.
I like taking pictures to send with updates if that is something you would enjoy.
Their experience
I grew up with dogs, cats, horses and chickens, and have had animal companions throughout my life.
I'm retired now after 8 years of working with a bunny rescue in my area. I fostered rescue bunnies, trained people to foster, screened applications to adopt, did community outreach on bunny education and bunny sat for people's bunnies, along with going to the vet, administering medications and helping abandoned bunnies regain a sense of security and love.
I've been happily house and pet sitting through another site since 2023.
What can they bring to the assignment
I've owned an older house for 26 years, so I've had experience in dealing with things that come up around housekeeping.
I have a car. I'm fully vaccinated. I have a passport.
I understand the importance of routine, special diets, medication, and appropriate exercise for everybody. Reassurance is important, too, and I make sure the day is interesting and calm for each companion, so they don't feel lonely. I am certified in animal reiki.
I'm quiet, keep early hours and don't smoke.
I like to read and research, especially history, and enjoy time in nature. I like to cook and eat plant-based meals.

Couldn’t ask for a better sitter
This was our second time using Luna Denise to care for our slightly spoiled Labrador. We were so happy with her the first time and she didn’t disappoint us. Luna Denise sent us multiple pictures and videos of their time together assuring us that he was well taken care of and getting all the attention that he “demands”. Our home was well cared for as well and we felt comfortable leaving both home and pet for an extended trip. We hope to have Luna Denise back for future sits as we couldn’t ask for a better pet/house sitter.

Simply wonderful
Denise was simply wonderful. I knew immediately we spoke that she would be perfect for this long sit. She made notes in addition to my welcome pack when she arrived, so was completely organised, leaving nothing to chance. She was so responsible. The dogs welcomed her with open paws, and Lavender, who is so shy still, became good friends with her. She took the greatest care of them. Lots of photos and chats whilst we were away and I could tell the dogs were certainly not missing us. Despite the rain which went on almost the whole sit, she took the dogs round the fields at every opportunity and hosed them down if they were muddy, then back in the warmth of the house. Lots and lots of cuddles and time on her lap. They were in heaven, as were we! I was worried about her and the dismal weather but she took it all in her stride. I could tell her priority was the animals and she was just focused on them the whole sit. It was wonderful. She dealt with a vet emergency perfectly...and over a weekend to boot, where our local vet was not in her usual practice nearby but at a different practice a distance away. We were so grateful. The house was just as we left it. One wouldn't have known anyone had been there, apart from the happy, stress free pets we found on our return, and thriving house plants! We had hoped to be back two days before her actual departure but the war in the Middle East kept us stuck in India for an extra week, so, very sadly, we missed seeing her on our return, as she of course had to head back home. That was my only regret - that we didn't have enough time with her. That would have been a bonus. She is the most delightful, caring person and I couldn't recommend her highly enough. Your home and pets are absolutely safe in her hands. Thank you Denise for allowing us to have time away without a worry about the pets and home.

Cannot thank Luna enough
I cannot thank Luna enough! She stayed in my house for a month and every single day I received an update from her. She is organised, clean, good with dogs, and above all, a wonderful person. She has a lot of experience minding animals of different kinds and will always make the best decisions when it comes to taking care of them. I'm sure Vito will miss the daily walks with her and all the attention that she always paid to him! If she lived closer, I would choose her a hundred more times :)

Absolute dream
I wish there were more stars available to give Luna Denise. From start to finish, she was an absolute dream of a house/pet sitter. She was punctual not only with her arrival, but also with her daily check-ins and the sweet photos she sent of my furbs. When I returned home, it was very clear that both my girls (Nona & Doja) were happy, calm, and incredibly well cared for. Not only that, my house was spotless. Luna even prepared my bed for me knowing I’d be wiped out after my trip — such a thoughtful touch. I’d give her fewer stars just to keep her all to myself, but that wouldn’t be fair :) She’s a true 10/10, and I’d love to have her back many more times in the future!

Wonderful caretaker
Luna Denise was a wonderful caretaker to her home and our two cats. Our cats took to her immediately and The boys were well taken care of and she left our house immaculate. She was great with communicating updates. She was very kind and thoughtful, even leaving us flowers to welcome us home.

Luna Denise was our housesitter for 2 1/2 weeks. She was punctual, excellent communicator and able to deal with challenges effectively. Highly recommend
This is the third time Luna has cared for Beau, my 5 yo mini Aussie, while I traveled. Luna is simply incredible. When she arrived Beau wiggled with excitement remembering her from prior stays. He adores her. Luna is responsible and a great communicator. She knows how anxious I am about leaving Beau, even with someone I trust, and she helps me through this by sending photos of Beau out having fun every day. She is clear in her questions making certain she understands instructions before I leave. Beau and the house were both perfect when I returned. I highly recommend her for any of your pet sitting needs.

Luna was perfect
Luna was perfect. This was our first experience as pet parents, and it went so smoothly. Luna was organized and knowledgeable about the process and she did a great job communicating with us getting ready for the sit. We were able to spend a few hours with her at the house with our pets before we left, which was very helpful. She was very engaged and responsive while we were on our trip, and our pups and kitty were absolutely happy and relaxed when we got back home. We enjoyed our trip with no worries. It was a great feeling to be on the road knowing she had the home front under control while loving on our pets. A great experience. We will happily have Luna as a sitter again if we get that lucky. :)

Incredibly lucky
We felt incredibly lucky to have our very first sit with Luna. She was able to share with us her experience as a sitter. I feel like I've made a new friend as a bonus. Luna was incredible with all our animals and we have a few! I loved that she sent photos of our pets with her while we were away. Even the unexpected she handled it like a pro. We had great communication with her the entire time. When we came back it felt like our home was professionally cleaned! Such a treat to have a pet and house sitter that is beyond tidy. Oh so fortunate to have Luna to care for Merle and my home. She is familiar with the Long Beach Peninsula and such an experienced and thoughtful sitter. We met before the sit, which gave us both comfort and she was meticulous in reading my Welcome Guide and asked questions as she did. She is personable and so kind to Merle, giving him beach walks and sending me funny pictures of his adventures. The house showed her care. I hope Luna herself can take her skills internationally. Luna Denise will always be our first choice
We just can’t say enough about Luna pleased we have been with Luna Denise and how fortunate we are to have found her. This was the second time she has stayed with our elderly dog and although we joke with Luna Denise about how she takes better care of her than we do, it is most definitely true. She handles our dog’s eating/digestion issues with both genuine care and good sense. After almost 3 weeks away, we come back to a healthier, happier dog - and a cleaner house - than we left. Luna Denise will always be our first choice as a pet carer when we are away.

Wonderful
Luna was wonderful! Her communication before, during and after her stay were excellent. She let us know when she arrived by sending charming photos of the cats and gave us an update with more cute photos. She went above and beyond by washing lines and towels and making the bed. The house was clean when we got home and she left a very sweet card. Her stay was for a long weekend, and we'd have her back in a heartbeat!

Third time
This was the third time Luna Denise has cared for my two dogs and my house - and the fact that it was a third time is indicative of how much I trust and value her. She cares for the house as if it was her own and always leaves it in the same or even better condition than when handed-over to her. And pet care? Honestly, she takes the dogs on more walking adventures than do I - while I know they're happy when I return I suspect they may also be a tad disappointed that their bestest playmate isn't there. Superlative, highest accolades - whenever new trips are booked, prior to publishing I always privately reach-out to her to see if those dates will work for her schedule.

Luna was absolutely wonderful
Luna was absolutely wonderful. I will always check her availability for my future trips. My most important requirement for a house sitter is loving and caring for my dog Beau. Luna passed this one with flying colors. Beau was comfortable with her as soon as she arrived and their relationship grew during her stay. Her organization was superb, including writing important dates in her calendar before I left, to insure Beau got his monthly medicine and that the plants were watered appropriately. Speaking of plants, she did a great job in monitoring my dahlias as they sprouted and protecting them from hungry slugs. The house was spotless upon my return. I asked for daily texts and each day she sent an update with photos of the adventures of the day. I live close to the ocean and there is a convenient daily walk. To keep life exciting, In addition to the local walk, Luna took Beau (who loves car rides) to multiple fun walks and hikes in the area. I'm pretty sure Beau had as much fun as I did on my trip to Spain. If you are considering Luna as a pet sitter I suggest you invite her. You will be very pleased.

Second time
This was the second time having Luna Denise care for my dogs & home - and with a third already planned it's obvious that I consider her absolutely top-notch! I will say that while my muttleys are always happy when Dad returns home, I think they miss their time with her (because, honestly, she takes them on more adventures than do I). Luna Denise is the epitome of trusted - for me, she is very highly recommended!
