About this sitter
I've lived in the Northwest US for most of my life, much of that time in the house my grandparents built. Growing up in the Columbia Gorge my family always had dogs, cats, horses, chickens and more.
Over the years I've had cats, chickens, and house bunnies, and for 8 years I worked with the local rabbit rescue teaching people how to foster and adopt bunnies. I'm retired, so my time is my own. I don't have any pets now, and miss having them, which is one reason I enjoy pet and house sitting.
I keep active with yoga, traveling and hiking, and I like to read and cook. I'm quiet, tidy and self-reliant. I'm fully vaccinated and boosted, don't smoke and I have a car.
Why they want to house sit
I'm taking the opportunity now to travel, meet new people and enjoy making friends with companion animals while learning about interesting areas.
I like taking pictures to send with updates if that is something you would enjoy.
Their experience
I grew up with dogs, cats, horses and chickens, and have had animal companions throughout my life.
I'm retired now after 8 years of working with a bunny rescue in my area. I fostered rescue bunnies, trained people to foster, screened applications to adopt, did community outreach on bunny education and bunny sat for people's bunnies, along with going to the vet, administering medications and helping abandoned bunnies regain a sense of security and love.
I've been happily house and pet sitting through another site since 2023.
What can they bring to the assignment
I've owned an older house for 26 years, so I've had experience in dealing with things that come up around housekeeping.
I have a car. I'm fully vaccinated. I have a passport.
I understand the importance of routine, special diets, medication, and appropriate exercise for everybody. Reassurance is important, too, and I make sure the day is interesting and calm for each companion, so they don't feel lonely. I am certified in animal reiki.
I'm quiet, keep early hours and don't smoke.
I like to read and research, especially history, and enjoy time in nature. I like to cook and eat plant-based meals.

Luna Denise will always be our first choice
We just can’t say enough about Luna pleased we have been with Luna Denise and how fortunate we are to have found her. This was the second time she has stayed with our elderly dog and although we joke with Luna Denise about how she takes better care of her than we do, it is most definitely true. She handles our dog’s eating/digestion issues with both genuine care and good sense. After almost 3 weeks away, we come back to a healthier, happier dog - and a cleaner house - than we left. Luna Denise will always be our first choice as a pet carer when we are away.

Wonderful
Luna was wonderful! Her communication before, during and after her stay were excellent. She let us know when she arrived by sending charming photos of the cats and gave us an update with more cute photos. She went above and beyond by washing lines and towels and making the bed. The house was clean when we got home and she left a very sweet card. Her stay was for a long weekend, and we'd have her back in a heartbeat!

Third time
This was the third time Luna Denise has cared for my two dogs and my house - and the fact that it was a third time is indicative of how much I trust and value her. She cares for the house as if it was her own and always leaves it in the same or even better condition than when handed-over to her. And pet care? Honestly, she takes the dogs on more walking adventures than do I - while I know they're happy when I return I suspect they may also be a tad disappointed that their bestest playmate isn't there. Superlative, highest accolades - whenever new trips are booked, prior to publishing I always privately reach-out to her to see if those dates will work for her schedule.

Luna was absolutely wonderful
Luna was absolutely wonderful. I will always check her availability for my future trips. My most important requirement for a house sitter is loving and caring for my dog Beau. Luna passed this one with flying colors. Beau was comfortable with her as soon as she arrived and their relationship grew during her stay. Her organization was superb, including writing important dates in her calendar before I left, to insure Beau got his monthly medicine and that the plants were watered appropriately. Speaking of plants, she did a great job in monitoring my dahlias as they sprouted and protecting them from hungry slugs. The house was spotless upon my return. I asked for daily texts and each day she sent an update with photos of the adventures of the day. I live close to the ocean and there is a convenient daily walk. To keep life exciting, In addition to the local walk, Luna took Beau (who loves car rides) to multiple fun walks and hikes in the area. I'm pretty sure Beau had as much fun as I did on my trip to Spain. If you are considering Luna as a pet sitter I suggest you invite her. You will be very pleased.

Second time
This was the second time having Luna Denise care for my dogs & home - and with a third already planned it's obvious that I consider her absolutely top-notch! I will say that while my muttleys are always happy when Dad returns home, I think they miss their time with her (because, honestly, she takes them on more adventures than do I). Luna Denise was absolutely wonderful
Luna Denise was absolutely wonderful! She cared for our two senior dogs (Reggie and Jimmy), our bearded dragon (Ty), and our aquarium fish while we were away — and truly went above and beyond. She was warm, responsive, and super easy to communicate with from the very beginning. We had a chance to chat over Zoom ahead of time, and she was flexible with her schedule to arrive the night before our trip and stay the night after we got back (since we had some tricky travel times). While we were gone, she handled *two unexpected power outages* — which affected things like our bearded dragon’s heat lamp and some of the smart home systems. Luna kept us informed, calmly figured things out, and was great at troubleshooting. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she had things under control. When we got home, the house was tidy, the pets were happy and relaxed, and it was clear that Luna had taken excellent care of everything. She truly treats your pets and your home like they’re her top priority. Her kindness and attention to detail really shine through in everything she does. We’d absolutely have her back anytime and recommend her wholeheartedly!

Absolutely exceptional
Luna Denise was absolutely exceptional in every aspect of her sit. Luna arrived a day early to accommodate our early departure time. She also stayed the night on our return date so our dog, Harley would not be left alone for an extended period of time. Our home was neat and tidy upon our return and Harley was calm, relaxed and seemed totally content. Luna Denise sent pictures and texts throughout the sit keeping us apprised of their activities. She included Harley in many of her outings, including hikes at local parks. We would certainly welcome Luna Denise back on future sits.

Luna Denise is an absolute dream
Luna Denise is an absolute dream! She is a nurturer at heart and emanates such warmth and generosity. Her pet care was absolutely superb and she definitely went above and beyond. We have four dogs, all of whom like to go on daily walks. Because it's difficult, even on a good day, to walk all four of them together, I gave Luna Denise a couple of options. She could only walk the larger of my four dogs and the three littles would be fine running around the back yard for the time we were gone, she could only walk my two boy dogs together daily, or, she could take two separate walks each day, taking two dogs each, on each walk. For the first two days of the sit, Luna Denise took all four dogs on an individual walk so she could get to know their personality and walking style and figure out which two dogs worked best together, then for the remainder of the sit, she took two daily walks ensuring all four of my pups got their daily exercise. That was incredibly thoughtful and kind and our dogs didn't miss out on their daily walks. When we came home, our dogs had been obviously very well cared for. They were not stressed in the least and were very openly affectionate with Luna Denise - who reciprocated the affection in kind. Additionally, our home was left absolutely spotless. Luna Denise is the type of sitter you dream of having - one who is dedicated to taking great care of the animals in her charge while also using the time to enjoy the opportunity to experience and explore a new place. We did not have a moment's worry with Luna Denise in charge. I wholeheartedly recommend Luna Denise for your next sit and fully plan on inviting her to return to as many sits as she would like. She is great!

Luna was incredible
Luna was incredible! Our dog Geordi loved her and had so much fun. They went on daily hikes, spent time cuddling. Luna kept us up to date with texts and pictures. She was self sufficient and left the house in perfect condition. We definitely highly recommend her and look forward to her coming back.

Luna Denise was just the best
Luna Denise was just the best cat sitter and house sitter that we could have imagined and we feel so very lucky to have found her. All the way through our trip she'd send little update pics of our furry girl and let us know how she was doing. Even before we left her communication with us was very responsive and organized. She had some helpful tips as we were getting ready to go and even while we were away. She was really helpful when some issues came up during the trip with the furnace, and helped us get it sorted out promptly. Upon return, the house was in tip top and very clean condition and the kitty was obviously very happy and content with no signs of any stress at all. She clearly loves animals and they respond to her with glee. We will absolutely give her a shout if we ever need another long term sitter and give her the highest recommendation without any reservation!! She's just simply the best.

Luna Denise was far more than we expected. She was extremely accommodating to our remodeling issues and gave our dog an incredible 3 weeks of fun activities and personal care. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Luna Denise. I could tell she really bonded with my dog and gave him lots of love while I was away. She took and shared the sweetest photos of him. I told her she should consider going into pet photography - the photos were that good! She was also great at communicating. I could tell she read my welcome guide and was able to manage the house without any issues. In addition, she left the house sparkling clean. Superb house and pet sitter
Luna Denise was a superb house and pet sitter in every way. She took fabulous care of our golden retriever puppy and our house in every way. She sent us pictures almost every day and left our house cleaner than when we left. This was only our second using TH but it is hard to imagine anyone doing a better job.

This was the second sit that Luna Denise did for me and it was just as great as the first. Even better because my kitties were more comfortable with her the second time. When I returned after my camping trip, I was treated to a bunch of pictures of my cats looking relaxed and happy. Everything was clean and orderly when I got home as well. 5 star experience!
