Mature experienced couple who love housesitting, pets and travel

About this sitter

Doug and Sherry - Multiple dates available for Europe Summer 2024.
We are more "mature" sitters, we don't party (anymore haha) or smoke or do drugs or annoy the neighbors - we are pretty quiet, we don't want to wander off for a few days at a time, or do anything but enjoy taking care of your home and/or your fur baby.
We usually look for sits of at least one week in duration, we prefer a non-smoking home (at least inside), preferably lower activity animals (cats, older dogs, bunnies, turtles) and nice locations that would be interesting to visit between sits.

Why they want to house sit

We love to travel, and when we had dogs, we had peace of mind knowing that our house and pets were well cared for, so we love extending that peace of mind to others. Every day, our petsit owners get a picture update, and garden updates (especially when a flower is blooming!) That relief you have is immeasurable, and it allows you to relax and enjoy your vacation or travels.

We have been homeowners as well as landlords for more than 30 years, so we are competent to diagnose house issues, and determine if it is a simple repair that we are capable of offering, or if a more complex resolution is necessary. "Leave it better than you found it" is our motto.

What can they bring to the assignment

Having owned pets and animals all my life, and with my veterinary background, I am competent to handle any unexpected medical situations, and to make sure that ?your pets get the best and most loving care possible. We foster sometimes as well as help others to rescue and adopt - we are true pet lovers!
Our experience is our strong point - there is probably little we haven't yet seen, done, or could be surprised by in your home! But even if there is an issue, we are resourceful and responsible - we will get it taken care of, as your pet and your home are our priority.
