About this sitter
We (55 and 63 years) are together over 20 years and are both seasoned travellers, speaking German, English and French, as well as understanding Italian and Spanish.
Being based in Germany, we both work as freelance artists and are therefore quiet flexible with our time. We are responsable and reliable, and love being outdoors in nature. We enjoy tranquility and at times as well being in the midst of a pulsating city.
When starting a housesit we do like to be welcomed in a clean house and we are very determined to keep it clean, tidy and well taken care of during our stay. We absolutely love animals and plants, and really enjoy taking care of them.
Why they want to house sit
We love to stay a bit longer in the same area so we can really get a feel of the local life. We are big fans of the win-win principle.
Their experience
We both grew up with a variety of animals around us (dogs, cats, rabbits, and in the case of Rouka goats and chicken as well), and have plenty of experience in taking well care of them and making sure they stay happy and healthy,
Also we are home owners ourselves and therefore have knowledge in keeping house and garden in a good shape and well organized.
What can they bring to the assignment
We are open minded, friendly, responsible and mature people who have lived long enough to remain calm in all situations, we love caring for precious pets, we treat the homes of our hosts with respect, and we enjoy learning about new places and other ways of living.

Great people!
Rouaka and Thomas were absolutely exceptional as cat and house sitters. From the very beginning, communication with them was clear, easy, and reassuring. They were responsive and proactive, making sure to ask the right questions and clarify every detail before and during the sit. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing they were taking care of everything while we were away. They are very responsible and trustworthy people, and it was immediately clear that they genuinely care about doing a great job. They are also incredibly friendly, warm, and polite, which made the whole experience feel smooth and positive from start to finish. Throughout our time away, they kept in touch regularly and sent us updates with lovely pictures of our cats. It was such a comfort to see them looking relaxed and content — and it really helped us feel connected while we were gone. When we returned home, we were so happy to find our cats relaxed, happy, and clearly well looked after. Our plants were also in perfect condition — thriving and healthy — and our flat was spotless. In fact, we’ve never returned to such a clean and well-maintained home after a sit before. They went above and beyond in every way. It’s rare to find sitters who are so reliable, caring, and professional. We feel very lucky to have had Rouaka and Thomas looking after our home and pets, and we would not hesitate to welcome them back anytime. They are by far the best cat sitters we’ve had, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Outstanding house sitters, highest recommendation.
Thomas and Roukaya came to look after our house and dogs in Paris for a month over the winter. They came at the 11th hour after our previous arrangements suddenly fell through. From the first video meeting with them we knew we had landed on our feet. They were fantastic from the start. They were kind and thoughtful and kept in touch, sending photos regularly. When we came back the house was immaculate, the plants watered and our dogs had clearly fallen in love with them. We have already invited them back to stay whenever they like. We wholeheartedly recommend them as SUPERB house sitters.

Absolutely perfect :)
Thomas and Roukaya took incredible care of our home and cats while we were away for a week. They were so easy to communicate with and took extra care. While we were gone we asked if they could also water our neighbors plants because of a heat wave and they did not hesitate. We appreciate how helpful, attentive, and clean Thomas and Roukaya were. We came home to an immaculate apartment and sweet note from our housesitters. They gave so much love to Roufi and Lulu and were very easygoing. We hope they can housesit for us again. We can't recommend Thomas and Roukaya more!
