Cat friendly Retired couple over 62

About this sitter

We are looking for places near water we can visit. An ocean with big waves would be perfect. Also mountains like the Alps are very attractive to us. Please give a 6 week advance time so we can get reasonably priced airfare. Jobs that are two weeks to one month. We like dogs but adore cats. We had Dogs, cats, chickens and goats in the past. Husband speaks A-1 Level German and both are native English speakers. We have traveled over most countries in western Europe and can usually make our wants known.

Why they want to house sit

I think it would be a way to get to visit a place where real people live. Not the usual tourist destination. A place to stay for free, and as a bonus a pet to share our time with. We miss our animals. But it would not be fair to a pet to get more at this time of life since we plan to travel to much.

Their experience

Many years with smalls dogs and cats. A couple of years we had goats and I think about 15 years we had chickens. We raised turkey and pea fowls.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are an unusual couple. She was born in Guyana South America. Her family raised all kinds of animals, including horses and cows. She traveled in several countries in the Caribbean. She is a retired child care business owner. He is a veteran of the US Army and the US Coast Guard and Army Reserve. He worked at a Supermax Federal prison and as a police officer. He build the house we currently live in. Her job bought the materials and he provided the labor and in 3 1/2 years later we had a finished paid for house. Both of us own a self storage business in a very rural area of southern Illinois USA. There is not many emergencies and disasters we have not overcome.
