Why they want to house sit

Having spent much of our lives living in different countries and on various continents, we confess to having something of a gypsy streak.
We are now based in Southern France and we enjoy visiting a variety of regions, meeting new people and animals and we quickly settle in to which ever property we are caring for. We enjoy the company of all animals and although we are honest about not wanting to undertake extensive exercise of lively dogs, we are more than happy to ensure that they get the outings that they need. We have wide experience in the care of a range of animals and house sitting has taken us as far afield as Australia and Tasmania.
We have had five covid jabs and have not been infected and we have a hybrid vehicle which allows us to range far and wide. We also carry Insurance Civil (French) which protects both owners and sitters.
We are self-sufficient with a good sense of humour and a "can do" outlook on life. From country cottages to French Chateaux we always find the best in every situation and love all animals.
We enjoy country properties rather than being in a town and things like ride-on mowers and relative isolation hold no fears for us.

Their experience

We have been house sitting for many years and in a variety of countries and although retired and in our early 70's we consider ourselves to be fit and able to care for your pets as long as they are not strong willed and in need of daily route marches.
Across the years we have cared for Spanish horses, goats, sheep, tortoises, cats, dogs, fish and even homing pigeons! Having farmed for several years there is very little that we find a challenge.
We are happy to share our extensive references with prospective owners which we hope will give a well rounded description of what we are capable of.

What can they bring to the assignment

Because we a retired couple, we are very happy to be "home based" while we are house sitting. The occasional shopping trip or a look at a local place of interest is quite sufficient and we prefer to be at home with the animals. We never go out in the evenings and we maintain a regular contact with our home/pet owners.
Jean works on line and Kate spends her time writing, reading or cooking and likes nothing more than a cuddle with a much loved pet.
We take our responsibilities very seriously and understand that a great deal of trust is required by both home owners and sitters.
