About this sitter
Earl is a retired contractor and Rosellen is a retired paralegal. We like to travel and know how hard it is to get someone to look after our pets
Why they want to house sit
Thought it would be another tool in our travel toolbox. We are especially interested in the Ft Lauderdale Florida area. Our daughter lives there and she has a new baby. Our other daughter lives in the Tampa area. We love to travel and given enough time we are able to fly to a destination and rent a car. We love animals and promise to treat yours as we do our own.
Their experience
We are in our early 70’s and have raised 3 kids and lots of pets. Earl is also a plant lover and has his garden and Rosellen has a butterfly flower garden.
What can they bring to the assignment
We can travel ourselves. We are healthy and don’t require much. Earl has been known to fix things at VBRO’s we have rented before. We have had several rental houses in the past and know how to treat a house with respect.

When I first spoke with Earl & Rosellen they were unable to do my November sit but said they'd be available for February. That turned out great and they kept in touch as the time grew closer. We talked over the phone and I knew they would be perfect for taking care of my cat and dog. They arrived right on time the day before I was to leave and got familiar with the house and I could tell both animals immediately took to both of them. We also talked about some gardening outside and Earl volunteered to help out with that too. When I left the following day I knew that the animals and the house would be in great hands. Luckily they also got a chance to visit many places in the area. I'd love to have them come back again - whenever they would like. If you have an opportunity to have them stay at your place, be sure to take them up on it. They'll do a great job!

The Hatches had it!
We so appreciate Earl and Rosellen taking care of our home and our furry companion, Molly. She was well cared for, and even neighbors commented on the Hatches walking with Molly and on their friendliness. And our house was tip-top upon our return. Our only regret is not be able to meet Earl and Rosellen personally. We are so glad that they were able to enjoy our lovely city and surrounding area.

From the very first meeting we knew Earl and Rosellen would be a perfect fit! They are great communicators, caring family folks who easily took took to caring for our treasured pets. Texted updates and wonderful pictures, we couldn't be happier! I have to say, also, that we returned home to an immaculate house, thank you thank you! Leaving a wonderful meal in the fridge for us to heat up when we returned was incredibly thoughtful as well. Garry and I hope Earl and Rosellen will be able to stay here the next time we go away!

Earl and Rosellen are great housesitters! They took wonderful care of my house, gardens, and goats.
Earl and Rosellen were up for all the challenges of housesitting here in the jungle of a Virginia summer in the woods. Rosellen was a natural with the goats, riding the waves of their chaos with ease to manage the feeding ritual, complete with soaking timothy and beet pellets and giving electrolytes to the old goat who was in need a little extra care. Earl had no problem interpreting my strange approach to gardening, leaving me with newly planted arugula and kale and well tended vegetables and flowers. They kept in touch with me to send pictures of the highlights of their stay here, and they didn't complain about having no clothes dryer or the lack of a TV. They were entertained by the hummingbirds (whose feeders they kept clean and filled), the goats, the deer and other wildlife. I love how curious they were about the goats and how well they paid attention to detail with regard to the house and grounds. They left the house super clean and even dropped off my car at the airport so it would be there when my late flight landed after they were gone. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants a mature, friendly couple with all the experience homeowners should have and then some, including their talents for clearing downed trees from the roads and crafting amazingly tasty meals on the grill. I feel very fortunate to have had the chance to meet them and wish them a fun time in their other housesitting adventures, most of which will likely be simpler than this, their first one from Mindmyhouse.com.
