Remote working sustainability professional from Hong Kong

About this sitter

I am a remote worker in the environmental/ animal welfare field. I have served a number of non-profits such as the Jane Goodall Institute over the past two decades. Helping animals and nature is my lifetime vocation.

Apart from house-sitting, I have done lots of volunteering and work exchanges, many of which included house-minding and caring for animals. One of my gigs was volunteering as a full-time ranger for a season at Grand Canyon National Park (USA) where I presented critter talks and geo walks. I have also volunteered at wildlife sanctuaries "Inti Wara Yassi" and "Save the Wild Chinchillas" in South America.

Pay or no pay, I take my work seriously though I think taking care of animals is more of a perk than a chore.

Why they want to house sit

Because of my frequent travels, it's not possible for me to have my own pet. House-sitting is the perfect way to satisfy my craving for furry company while away from home. And I'd love to experience new places as a local instead of a regular tourist.

Their experience

I have done house-sitting in Australia and Thailand (not through this platform), looking after dogs, cats and rabbits. One of my photos is a review from Aussie House Sitters. I also have experience caring for goats, chicken and wild animals such as monkeys, macaws and toucans.

What can they bring to the assignment

I treat other people's pets and homes as my own, as I'm very grateful for the trust that house/ pet owners put in me, who is essentially a stranger to them.
Being a health-conscious and eco-conscious individual, I intend to keep the pet(s) healthy and happy. I try my best to reduce waste and energy use while keeping everything neat and clean. I'm happy to do gardening if needed as I enjoy physical labour and I'm very fit.
