Responsible Dutch/American Couple (Animal & Plant Owners)

About this sitter

We are an active, friendly couple based in Amsterdam. We are both Dutch-American citizens, so we travel frequently to North America and around Europe. We're organized and responsible but also easy-going.

We're non-smokers and like to cycle, hike, and camp. We also love seeing live music and going to museums. Nick works remotely as an online educator, and I am doing my PhD at the University of Amsterdam in Marketing.

We have two cats and many plants. We house-sit and petsit for friends when we can, so we are comfortable watching most animals. :) We're looking for housesits with clear communication and expectations. This includes detailed, written instructions and emergency contacts. We expect a clean house when we arrive and we will always return it in the condition we received it. We will give you updates when/if you desire!

Why they want to house sit

We love to travel but we really like to see places from the local's perspective. We're practical and try to avoid overly commercial experiences when we can. We often work remotely and housesitting is often better for this than a hotel.

We're also cat and plant owners and understand the difficulties of being away. Housesitting allows all parties involved to enjoy themselves, but also creates connections. It's a win-win!

Their experience

Yes! We often housesit/petsit for friends and neighbors. This includes cats, dogs, and plants, but we're happy to watch other animals as well. We have done both long-term sitting and short-term.

We are reliable and honest. If we agree to something we will always follow-through.

What can they bring to the assignment

We take great care of our own home, pets, and plants and we will do the same for yours. We will make sure your home is secure and well-maintained while you are away. We are animal and plant lovers so all tasks will be done with genuine care and affection. You and your pets can be worry-free while we're in your home.
