About this sitter

Hello! We are Chris and Kirsten, lovers of animals and new experiences. We have looked after a wide variety of pets and homes, across the United States and internationally.
We have always had animals sharing our lives as companions. After old age took the last of our cats, we realized that we could provide comfort and companionship for animals and travel through pet sitting and house-sitting. We happily communicate with you at a level and manner of your choosing and strive to maintain your established routines. We pride ourselves on being responsible, caring and reliable. You will be glad you chose us!

Why they want to house sit

We decided two years ago to hang up our full-time sitter hats and rent a beautiful historic cottage in Delaware. We absolutely loved it.. and we were never there. We just couldn't stay home when there were so many animals to meet and places to see. While the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States will always call us back, it just makes no sense to maintain the costs and upkeep of a home when our hearts are happiest taking care of yours. We understand just how hard it is to find people that you can trust and rely on, especially when it comes to caring for your best friends and most important possessions. We feel like our value in life currently is in being those people. This lifestyle requires a lot of adaptability, patience and humor, but it is beyond rewarding. We get to make sure that animals feel safe and loved during stressful times for them, and we can help you feel free to actually enjoy your time away. We have had a chance to see some amazing places this way. House and pet sitting lets us be adventurous homebodies, and get to know the areas we stay much better than we ever do in a hotel or resort. I actually love trips to the grocery store as we travel. Every visit is a new adventure - although it is nice to finally start learning what aisle the bread is on after being in one place for a while!


We were unaware of the world of petsitting when our pets were still alive, and rarely travelled because we didn't have people we could trust to leave them with. Being able to provide that peace of mind to people and animals while we explore the world ourselves is a special privilege. We truly value making new animal friends around the world. A few of their people have become dear friends as well! Of course, when we occasionally sit at a property without pets we do enjoy the luxury of being assured of a bed to ourselves.

As we have just returned to sitting full time, we are still fairly open in our schedule. As of the beginning of July we are leaving the beautiful island of Hawaii and will be available for sits on the west coast of the US on short to medium notice when we have calendar availability. We are open and looking forward to sits farther afield, with our only considerations being time to travel to your destination and cost to get there. We do have our own vehicle and usually drive between locations for domestic sits. For sits outside of the continental US, we are open to invitations. We will consider most locations, airfare budget allowing. The world is beautiful, and I have rarely seen a place that I wouldn't return to a second time.

We do care deeply about the level of care we provide, and appreciate clear and open communication. We sit as a mutually beneficial arrangement, because we love what we do and we have a true passion for animals. We are not employees, and we aren't looking for a cheap travel deal. We are here to be your partners in making sure what is important to you is cared for, while we are able to enjoy life in your area the way a local would. We have had successful sits through this platform previously, and also maintain an active profile on another major house-sitting site. Unfortunately our previous listing here expired and subsequently disappeared. This is our new listing, but rest assured we can show a history of five star reviews.
