About this sitter
Greetings from Utah, USA. I am retired and have traveled to the EU and UK the past 5 years. I am now visiting France in 2025 and 2026 on a long-term-visa-TS and looking for a place to rent and eventually buy in France to stay longer term as I love the country, people, and culture.
Why they want to house sit
I am researching where I would like to call home in France long term. I am retired, have always (until 2023) had pets (dogs, cats, chickens, fish, turtles) and when my last fur-baby passed, decided I would travel. Caring for your pets gives me the best of both worlds as I am in my retired years. I am also a hiker and the many paths in the EU are calling me to return for a 6th year.
Their experience
Yes. I have offered my home before on this site with great success several times and I have also been a house-sitter for 3 months in 2025 with an excellent reference. It was such a comfort to have good communication with my housesitters and I offer the same. Great communication and great care of your home while you are away. I have stayed as a guest at many AirBnb's and have excellent references there. I often care for my son's dog (pictured) and my last two cats lived to the age of 19 years and are deeply missed. I have also had chickens for many years. I speak English as a first language and use Google Translate as needed. I am working on my French.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am accustomed to living and traveling in other countries and have lived in the EU previously full-time (Germany and Sicily). I am friendly, experienced with pets, and would treat your home as if it were my own. I have been a home-owner for over 30 years, am a mom, and know how to care for a home. I am open to a home swap in beautiful Utah, USA until it is sold in 2026.

Julie was the dream!
We've left our two Russian Blue cats in the care of house sitters at our home for 1-3 month trips away three times now, and whilst they were all satisfactory, Julie was our favourite sitter yet. She was very polite and easy to get along with straight away making us feel at ease. Whilst we were away her messages and photo updates were great, we never needed to wonder if they were all doing ok or reach out before she did with lovely updates giving us piice of mind. She left our house as she'd found it and we even asked her to come back for our next trip later this year but sadly she's not available this time. We hope to see you again in the future Julie!
