About this sitter

We are Angela and Ooward and English mature, quiet, very tidy, none smoking, DBS checked married couple. We are retired constant global travelers.
We literally pet sit all over the world. It just depends on which country we are visiting at that time.
Inbetween our travels we return to the uk to visit our family for sometimes a few weeks. When this happens we look for a house sit in and around Newcastle Upon Tyne. We can do cities, remote or in the countryside.
At other times when visiting other countries we either explore or pet sit. We do not mix the two. When we pet sit we are there to take care of your pets and house. We take our job seriously.
We like to travel to visit as many places the world has to offer, (it’s a very big world!) walk, hike and bike, White water rafting, kayaking and generally enjoying the outdoors.
We often visit animal refuge rescue centers around the world. Just us paying to visit helps go towards the cost of taking care of them and also shows us how much people care.
We speak Portuguese (Brazilian) and we are learning Spanish.

Why they want to house sit

We want to house sit because we have the time, the flexibility and its always nice to help people and they actually help us too by allowing and trusting us to take care of their most precious possessions, their ‘pet family’ and their house.

PLEASE NOTE
When we pet sit we are there all the time. We do not explore or treat it as a holiday.
We do our travels, adventures for 3 or 6 months. we do not pet sit during this time.
After each adventure we take time out of our travels to pet sit so that we can do the research for our next trip whilst we are taking care of the fur family.
We think it is very important to be there.
We have a job to do and that’s to make sure the fur family has all the support and cuddles they need, they are wondering where their parents are so they need reassurance too and we most certainly give it to them by being there all the time and not leaving them except to go shopping.

Their experience

We have done quite a few pet sits and have many references should you want to see them. We took care of 2 cute cats with very different personalities in Bangkok for a lovely couple and their baby daughter. One cat wanted cuddles all the time and the other randomly. when they had their ‘silly mad time’ it was great fun to watch.
We also took care of 2 beautiful cats on a rural ex farm in France for 3 weeks. They were not house cats but did stay close to the house which had a really large garden and many outbuildings. Exploring the old farm buildings was so interesting.
Most recently we have just had the pleasure of 2 beautiful fun dogs with 3 cats that thought they were dogs. Everybody went for the walkies no matter how long it was!!
Since then we have had many pet families, even including a snake! We could go on about all the beautiful fur families we have taken care of but the list is soooo long now.
We can take care of cats and dogs. We pride ourselves on the care we give to all pets especially rescue pets, we know they need a little more time and patience.
Between us we have taken care of chickens and horses but that was many years ago. We can probably care for most animals as long as we are shown what is required.

What can they bring to the assignment

We will be with your fur family all the time. We do not treat it as a holiday so we do not leave them except to go shopping for food, though often we take them with us and I stay in the car with them while Ooward goes shopping.
We used to have many pets before we retired. 5 cats, 2 dogs, a goldfish and 2 horses though our daughter took care of the horses. When we retired our daughter took the remaining cats (one was age 23) and the 2 dogs to her house so that we could travel. She doesn’t have cats anymore but still has dogs though not the original ones. Our cuddles have built up so every now and then we need to release them!! We have so many cuddles to give that it’s a shame to waste them.
Having had so many of our own pets of various sizes, various ages and various mannerisms has given us the knowledge of how to take good care of your ‘pet family’ so that when you return they will only be grumpy with you for only a short time.
You would only need to tell us what specific things you need doing and if we are able, we will do it for you. If you need the grass cutting, no problem, if you need the plants watering, no problem, if you need the garden weeded, no problem.
