About this sitter

We are Harry and Karen, an active retired couple who are passionate about the environment, animal welfare, the arts, culture, food and authentic travel.
Karen was a high-school art teacher and is now a practicing artist. Harry was a transport engineer/planner, but loves language most of all. He speaks some French, but needs to immerse himself in a francophone location to improve.

We have stayed in many AirBnB homes in France, Spain, Portugal, the UK, the USA and of course Australia. We have excellent references from all our stays. We have also travelled independently in India and southeast Asia.

We are both adept at home maintenance, gardening and landscaping.
We have had house- and pet-sitters, from the UK and Australia, on several occasions for weeks at a time. They have found our home very accommodating, and have become friends who are keen to stay again.
We understand the level of trust required to leave your home and pets and enjoy a relaxing holiday, we will ensure you can do just that.

Why they want to house sit

We believe house sitting will allow us the time and place for more authentic travel and cultural experiences. We have had many pets including our beloved poddle cross, Simmi who almost made it to 17 years. We miss her very much and it makes us happy to connect and love others pets.

Their experience

We have both always had pets (together that's over 100 years experience!) , and often cared for others pets and wildlife. We have had big dogs, small dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, chickens, parrots, native rescue birds and kangaroos, all with unique personalities and care requirements. We have cared for a very large and nervous, rescue dog and pets with complicated medical conditions. We have created an extensive garden, and maintain thriving pot plants.
