Responsible, well travelled animal lover with practical skills

Hi, I'm Julie. I'm a teacher of English as a second language, Spanish and French I'm from the U.K. and I can speak French, Spanish, Catalan, a little German and I'm trying to learn some Italian.
I'd like to experience some different places and work with polite and reasonable hosts. And if there are some animals, even better!

Why they want to house sit

I understand that leaving a home and especially pets can be a worrying time for their owners. Though house sitting, I am able to provide a helpful service to others while enjoying the change of scenery (and quality time with animals which is always a bonus!).

Their experience

I've regularly looked after neighbours' and friends' animals for extended periods of time including via pet sitting websites. These have included a donkey, pony, sheep, chickens, cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish an even giant African land snails! I've been entrusted with house keys and even managed to return them!

What can they bring to the assignment

I am a trustworthy, decent person who has been shown respect and kindness when travelling by strangers, so I know how valuable it is. I've been lucky enough to travel fairly extensively over the years both in Europe and outside, always independently and sometimes in my small campervan.

I am an animal lover, am flexible, independent, can take my work with me and am able to move at potentially short notice, I live in a house with my partner M that we renovated / rebuilt from a near ruin, so I am not afraid of a bit of practical hard work or off grid living. I have a good knowledge of gardening and houseplants, as my own home is full of them. I love to grow my own veg, so dealing with a veggie garden wouldn't be an issue for me.
I think I've managed to gather a fair bit of experience in my lifetime so far. I suppose I'm getting to a more "sensible age" but that doesn't mean I don't have plenty of energy for the tasks at hand!
