About this sitter
I’m 59 years old and from Scotland. I would be best described as a sociable, trustworthy and reliable individual. Ive recently returned to Spain, where I lived and worked for 14 years. At the moment I’m based on the Guadiana river near Sanlúcar de Guadiana. I can speak Castellano beyond a functional level. I’m physically fit, and enjoy walking, cycling and kayaking.
House sitting for me would provide an opportunity to visit other countries while providing house owners the piece of mind that their properties and animals are being safely looked after while they’re away from home.

To be able to travel and provide owners with a trustworthy sitter for their homes and animal while they are away.
Their experience
Yes. I’ve just finish house sit for friends, looking after their small holding on the Guadiana river in south west Andalusia, Spain. It’s an off grid finca, and this time around I took care of the dog, donkey and chickens. There are a number of trees and plants to managed as well. On previous sits here I tended to a small number of sheep.
I’ve used MindMyHouse in the past to sit a house near Toulouse in France, while the family took a winter break. This involved looking after their dog and cats. I’ve also sat a house/ small holding in Murcia , Spain.
What can they bring to the assignment
Reliability, and experience. As I can speak Castellano to a an acceptable level, If the house sit is in Spain I’ll be able to communicate with neighbours, locals, and any emergency contacts that may be required.
I’ve sufficient diy skills to carry out small repairs.

Mark looked after our farm in rural Portugal for over two weeks, taking care of two donkeys, a dozen chickens, a cat and a large teenage, boisterous puppy! We immediately felt at ease in his company when he arrived, as did the animals. He looked after everything impeccably. Communication was easy with regular updates and pictures. Mark was experienced and great with the donkeys, wasn't phased by the dog's youthful games and gave the cat plenty of cuddles, you could just tell he's an animal lover.
