About this sitter
I grew up on a small, family farm where helping with chores was a part of my every day routine. My husband and I subsequently had a small acreage of our own where we raised chickens, goats and guineas and always had a couple of cats and dogs. I've been house/pet sitting for friends and family and others who reached out through them for years. I no longer have animals of my own, but still love them and cherish the opportunity to take care of others! I'm self-employed and can work from anywhere and want to enjoy that flexibility by spending time in places around the world as a local. Please note that I only accept sits in non-smoking homes.
Why they want to house sit
I have a life-long love of both animals and traveling. What could be better than combining them? I love meeting new people and having new experiences. I also remember how hard it is to leave home and worry about your animals. Even in travels when I wasn't pet sitting, one of my favorite parts of travel has been staying with other people, especially those who have pets, and, if I'm really lucky, farm animals!
Their experience
Very! I've cared for almost every kind of animal you can imagine. They include large farm animals such as cattle, horses, goats, pigs, as well as pets such as cats, dogs, ferrets, snakes, birds, fish and more. I've dealt with pets that have serious issues with strangers and other challenges and have always been warmly thanked for my good care of the animals and the home.
What can they bring to the assignment
I bring a ton of experience. I am energetic. I am mature enough to understand the importance of caring for someone else's home properly. I am enormously calm and patient and never panic in a crisis. Everyone who knows me will attest to my sense of responsibility and how important that is to who I am. I bring that to every house sitting assignment. I also love learning languages and always make sure I know at least a little of every language before I travel.

We would love to have them back
Julie and Mike were a pleasure to get to know. We came home to two relaxed and happy dogs who sat happily next to them even though we were home! They are clearly experienced with dogs and were immediately comfortable with ours. We received regular photos and updates, the dogs were walked regularly, and they reached out to us if they had questions. We came home to a tidy house and they even made dinner for us after our long flight home! Highly recommended and we would love to have them back in the future.

I can't thank them enough
Julie and her husband Mike came to our farm to care for our six goats, one sheep, two pigs, 14 chickens, two ducks, our dog Finley, and our two cats. They arrived early so that they could participate with me in evening chores and we could walk around and give them a tour of the house and the property. We hadn't been on a vacation for five years because it is so difficult to ask someone to stay on the farm and take care of animals for more than a few days. Julie and Mike were perfect for the job! I can't say enough about them. During our trip, Julie sent me texts and photos of the animals and kept me up-to-date. It is obvious they are experienced pet sitters, and I would highly recommend Julie (and Mike) for any type of pet sitting job. I can't thank them enough for making our time away from the farm as stress free as possible.

Wow, what a great experience
Wow, what a great experience! Our trip came up very quickly, and Julie and her husband Mike were extremely flexible in adapting to our fluid needs. They were able to stop by ahead of the sit to meet our two dogs and two cats in person, walk through our routine, and enable us to get an early start on our travel day! Julie & Mike did a great job managing our household’s needs. They were extremely trustworthy, dependable, patient and friendly, taking lots of time to support all our pets with the time and care they needed to feel safe and secure. Our menagerie is a bit complicated with a couple special needs dogs, and two shy cats, and Julie & Mike took that all in stride. They both have a special affinity for animals and gentle, caring natures. Both Julie & Mike quickly formed close bonds with our gang, and we could tell from the photos they shared that our pets were happy and calm. They took wonderful care of the dogs, cats & fish, with updates and photos that helped us truly enjoy our trip. Julie and Mike kept up with our dogs’ medication schedule which was our number one priority. One of our dogs is epileptic, and she had two seizures during the sit; Julie handled this just as we would have and communicated her condition so we were involved and up to date. Our home was left in great condition, and our pets truly well cared for. We were very impressed with the comprehensive care and communication Julie and Mike provided, and their flexibility with our schedule; we’d love to have them pet / house sit again any time! 5 stars and a resounding recommendation from a thankful family!! :-)
