Have dogs. Will travel. Remote working lawyer

About this sitter

Hi there! I'm Cory. 40+ year old attorney who works mostly remote and loves to travel but I also love to bring my dogs. Louis is my 5 year old Berger Picard (french shepherd; watch Because of Winn Dixie) and Dakota is a 1 year old Border Collie mutt who are as much goofballs as they are little lovers.

I'm looking for longer sits - 2 weeks or more if you're farther away rather than closer. I'll need reliable WiFi so I can work.

Why they want to house sit

I pretty much love all animals as much as I love to experience real life of the place where I'm at and not just be a tourist with a check list of things to see. I enjoy the outdoors - walking, hiking, mountains, streams, lakes, backyard, camping, etc. I use this site myself as a homeowner seeking dog sitters when I travel abroad and can't bring my dogs with me. I travel around a bunch in my Airstream camper (while still working remotely) but thought this would provide a different (and less cramped) opportunity to travel while caring for other animals, houses and farms.

Their experience

I had done this years ago in 2015 for a family in Qatar where I house/cat sat for one month. (Unfortunately, I don't have my log in or testimonial from back then). I also frequently babysit my neighbor's 18 year old Shih Tzu. I served as an agriculture volunteer in Peace Corps in Ghana, Africa from 2012-2015 which required a background and police check at that time.

I grew up on a hobby farm (pet cows, pigs, chickens) and helped my grandfather on his dairy farm. I've had 2 "special needs" German Shepherds - one who was allergic to dog food so I had to cook his meals, and treat his host of other seasonal allergies; and one who had severe anxiety. I also lived in Ghana, Africa for 3 years where animals much are everywhere (on the backs of motos, next to you on the tro tro or sitting on your veranda where you brush your teeth).

What can they bring to the assignment

I am clean, responsible and operate under the premise that I want to be invited back. Non-smoker. I can handle stressful situations and take charge if something happens. I am cognizant of when an animal is not acting normally and may have a medical issue. While I don't have any current testimonials on MindMyHouse, I have all 5* ratings on AirBnb as a guest who brings her dogs with her and leaves the house generally cleaner than it was when I arrived.
