About this sitter
I am a 62-year-old woman living in a detached house in the countryside in Finland. I am used to being alone and I love animals. My last pet left for better hunting grounds in the spring of 2024, and now I miss the company of animals.
I would like to find a "quiet" place to spend time and where there are nice animals whose energy I could enjoy.
I move around without a car, so it would be good if there were public transport nearby and a grocery store within walking distance. I have a driver's license and am a used driver, I can also borrow your car if that suits you.
Why they want to house sit
When I travel, I would like to experience different cultures. The best free time for me is enjoying the company of animals.
I like real life, in a peaceful environment, whether it's in the countryside, a small village or a warm little town. As long as nature, water and animals are nearby.
Their experience
I have 21 years of experience in animal care. During that time, I have had two dogs, three cats, several chickens (over 20), rabbits and ducks.
I have also taken care of my friends' animals, such as dogs, chickens, rabbits, sheep and cats.
In the winter of 2024 and 2025, I lived with two rescue dogs in Austria. Both were absolutely wonderful.
In the spring of 2025, I was in Greece and tamed stray dogs. And March was spent in Greece with 22 cats. In the fall of 2025, I kept a few chickens company in the French countryside, in a small village. Spring 2026 will be spent busy with large cat colonies. I wonder what it would be like to focus on just one cat ??
What can they bring to the assignment
I give all my attention and love to animals, the house and the garden. I enjoy being in the countryside, nature and by the water.
I also love gardening and I like to do small maintenance jobs there. I have a horticultural education.
This program asks for a police record. I can order one if needed, but in Finland they are paid and only valid for 6 months, so I order one if someone asks for it, it is not a problem.
I do not smoke or drink alcohol. And I am calm and tidy in my lifestyle. I love living ascetically, in old houses and in the country.

Heli Our Saviour
Thank the lord for Heli! She saved our bacon and kindly took over from another house sitter at very very short notice and we were in Asia at the time! Big job here building site and 20 cats Heli rose to the challenge and managed the whole caboodle without any fuss or bother just cracked on until we returned home yesterday 6 weeks of constant busyness and showed dedication, tenacity and a fantastic ambassador for the cats. Great person!
Heli is house sitting from the beginning of January until the end of February for me. She is a very friendly and uncomplicated person with a great connection with animals. My cats, dog and horses like her very much. She helps me very much to get in touch with some very shy street dogs and she does a really good job! I trust her with everything 100 percent and I recommend her as a absolutely trustworthy woman with a big heart and a lot of respect for the personality of every animal!
