About this sitter
I'm a retired teacher and animal lover. I love nature, science, gardening, reading, and do lots of crochet.
I want to see all of the southeastern coastline from the Carolinas all the way down and all of Florida in particular. House and pet sitting allows me to see new areas and learn new things, plus I get the advantage to hang out with lots of different fur babies.
Why they want to house sit
House sitting allows me the chance to take mini vacations while doing something for someone else. I can see and learn new things everywhere I go.
I've had cats all of my adult life and last year I lost my girl of 15 years. I've found I can get the joy of pets caring for other people's pets.
Their experience
Most of my experience has been for friends and neighbors. I've cared for their 4 legged and feathered family in their home and in mine. Currently I live in too small a space to pet sit here.
I've fed and watered horses, chickens, dogs, cats, birds, and lizards. Animals generally like me and seem to find my voice calming.
What can they bring to the assignment
Lots of care and attention for your pets, respect and responsibility for your home and personal space. I'm a private person and respect others' privacy.
As stated, I am a retired teacher. I have a clean background and fingerprint clearance for substitute teaching.

3 month house sit in New Orleans
I can definitely recommend Rai as a house sitter. She was at my house for 3 months over the summer. I do not have any pets, but I have a very large garden with flowers and vegetables and I needed someone knowledgeable about plants to take care of it and my house. We communicated via WhatsApp since I was in Europe and she always replied in less than two minutes every time I messaged her. Once a week she sent me around a dozen photos of the garden so I could lend my input. She collected the mail and kept me updated on anything important happening in the neighborhood. I was especially happy that she left my house clean and tidy.

Rai is a gem
We SO enjoyed our time with Rai the night before we left with good conversation and shared stories. We appreciated that she arrived having reviewed our instructional manual making training so easy and allowing us to feel so confident in our decision. The kitties were comfortable with her that first evening and then photos and texts indicated they were very happy to have her there loving on them. Communication was great before, during and afterwards and we arrived home to find a house looking so great we almost called off the housekeeper. And, it seems rain kept her from being sweet to voluntarily pull the many weeds in our garden. We are very hopeful to have Rai back here to take good care of our kitties and our home with the bonus of getting to spend more time with her. Rai is a gem!

I heartily recommend Rai
I heartily recommend Rai for your housesit. Even though she is early in her house sitting career, she has plenty of life experience and cared for our home as if it were her own. My orchids were just beginning to bloom when we left for our five week trip, and Rai sent photos several times so I wouldn’t miss out on their beauty. She is a great communicator and very personable. I enjoyed her company and will surely have her back another time!
