About this sitter
The dream to live in Europe became a reality in 2018. We struck gold by finding a long term housesit in France!. ooh la la did things change! . We got such a taste for this life enriching adventure, it will be 7 years coming September '25 and we feel we have become real house-sit addicts and might I add professionals!
A bit about our family: Damian is a (part time) CAD draftsman / surveyor (aviation) and is working from his laptop.
Damian was brought up on a farm/vineyard in South Australia by Dutch parents. He is quite the handyman. He has renovated several houses and this proves to become very helpful living amidst 15 hectares of vines in a large farmhouse.
Lisette has a certificate in support work for aged care and is extremely house proud.
Tygo has finished schooling and is acquiring handy - man skills ( so important for kids nowadays ?)
Lexi is doing an international home school program .
Why they want to house sit
We love what we are doing and often go over and beyond because we can't help ourselves and on top of that as a bonus, we get to spend time as a family and share this experience together, learning from all the different animals and people we have met and are still meeting.
Their experience
We have been able to do long term house sits of + 1 year, with the longest being 4,5 years! We also have been able to do short holiday/ explore sits. We have ( many) great reviews on another house sit site and am happy to forward these to you.
What can they bring to the assignment
A great solution driven approach to anything that might come up ( unexpectedly) We have experience with swimming pools, septic tanks, solar, heavy machinery like tractors, forklifts, ride on mowers and professional tools., pruning etc etc. We know and understand big properties and we respect people's belongings and are neat and tidy. We really enjoy caring for your home and your beloved animals and are still impressed with trusting people giving this amazing opportunity to strangers and therefore we won't let you down!

Very nice and respectful family
I have just returned from a mid-assignment check in at my house following some work done there by my plumber. Lisette and Damian have been keeping my house absolutely spotless, furthermore, it was clear they had gone out of their way to treat it - and its contents - with respect, consideration and intelligence. Some parts of the house were in better working condition than when the Brugmans moved in. I have no reservations in warmly recommending them as housesitters.

Super expérience pour la première fois
Super expérience pour la première fois .lizette et sa famille sont charmant ils se sont occupés des animaux et des plantes vertes super bien et en revenant notre maison était super propre, rangée et avec des petits cadeaux Ils se sont parfaitement débrouillés dans notre maison sans nous demander toutes 5 minutes où est rangé ceci ou vous avez mis cela … Et on a eu régulièrement des photos de nos animaux que l’on a retrouvé en pleine forme Je recommande vivement ça a été une très bonne expérience et je crois qu’ils ont aussi aimé notre belle région 😊

Spectacular house sitters
Lisette, Damian and their wonderful kids have been spectacular house sitters. Not only have they looked after our big old farm house (which requires a lot of TLC) lovingly and with extreme care, they have a knack for all DIY, and more than that, they are very good and comfortable with handling tools and equipment and can perform many works that require handcrafting, building, assembling, constructing, etc. We have been so lucky with all their care in the house, the garden, the herb garden, the farm ...... On another note, since I do pop in once in a while when I come to Europe, I stay with them and they make me feel so welcome. They are kind and respectful to our small village community and made a real difference to my worry and happiness of leaving our beautiful farm. Thank you very much !
