Celebrating 7 years of continuous addictive house-sitting

About this sitter

The dream to live in Europe became a reality in 2018. We struck gold by finding a long term housesit in France!. ooh la la did things change! . We got such a taste for this life enriching adventure, it's been 7 years since September '25 and we feel we have become real house-sit addicts and might I add professionals!

A bit about our family: Damian is a (part time) CAD draftsman / surveyor (aviation) and is working from his laptop.
Damian was brought up on a farm/vineyard in South Australia by Dutch parents. He is quite the handyman. He has renovated several houses and this proved to be very helpful for our first housesit amidst 15 hectares of vines in a large farmhouse near Bordeaux. It was for 4 months originally and turned into over 4 years.
Lisette has a certificate in support work for aged care and is extremely house proud.
Tygo has finished schooling and is acquiring handy - man skills ( so important for kids nowadays !) He acquired an English teaching certificate , teaching English online and designing audio/ video parts for 3 D printing.
Lexi is doing an international home school program and looking into sowing/ couture. She has been fantastic with looking after the different animals during some housesits. They all adore her.

Why they want to house sit

We love what we are doing and often go over and beyond because we can't help ourselves and on top of that as a bonus, we get to spend time as a family and share this experience together, learning from all the different animals and people we have met in different countries.

Their experience

We have been able to do long term house sits of + 1 year, with the longest being 4,5 years! We also have been able to do short holiday/ explore sits. We have ( many) great reviews on different housesit sites and are able to pass them on to you on request.

What can they bring to the assignment

A great solution driven approach to anything that might come up ( unexpectedly) We have experience with swimming pools, septic tanks, solar, heavy machinery like tractors, forklifts, ride on mowers and professional tools., pruning etc etc. We know and understand big properties and we respect people's belongings and are neat and tidy. We really enjoy caring for your home and your beloved animals and are still impressed with trusting people giving this amazing opportunity to strangers and therefore we won't let you down!
