About this sitter
We are an Australian couple entrepreneurs work online. The past 14 years has seen us travel the world with our own pet dog, Dakar (who passed in 2024).
Along the way we looked after other people's dogs, cats, turtles, chickens, horses and birds on 3 continents.
Earlier in our lives we grew up with domestic and native animals in Australia. Mark was a co-owner of a 300ha sheep and cattle farm for a numbers of years too.

Lovely housesitters
Mark arrived ahead of Linda who stayed on at a previous sit that had to be extended at short notice. We really appreciated that they found a solution to honour our start date. All our animals were extremely pampered and our dog was given her daily meds. They remained calm and empathic when the dog had an unexpected illness and we received regular photo updates and news. Our veg patch and plants were diligently watered and we were welcomed home to a delicious home-cooked dinner - thank you!

Reliable house sitter with a real love for our animals
As newbies as hosts to house sitters we had some reservations about handing our beloved bolthole and collection of pets over to complete strangers but, as we had some epic holiday plans to celebrate the start of my 8th decade on this mortal coil, needs must. We had plans that would see us being away from home from early May too mid July with just a brief period at home at the end of May. Therefore Linda and her partner Mark's availability to cover the whole period was an ideal solution. From the time Linda arrived it was obvious that she (and later Mark on his arrival) would form a deep relationship with our dog Aladin and would have no problem with either him or the cats and chickens. Just to add to their challenges the Gite at the property was to be occupied for a couple of weeks at the end of their residency and thus they were required to finalise arrangements for this which included tidying the garden, grass cutting and swimming pool preparation and maintenance (I think this final requirement may have given Linda a few sleepless nights but she rose to the challenge magnificently). So, in conclusion, this was a very positive experience that freed us up to complete an epic road trip to Hungry, complete a 400+ Camino through Spain and Portugal and to attend a family wedding in the UK, Would I do it again, assuredly. Would I recommend Linda and Mark as house sitters, without reservation. I'm confident that they'll not only satisfy your needs but that they'll go that extra mile to keep things together.
