About this sitter

Hello! We’re Harry and Marion a dependable, animal-loving couple in our early sixties who take great pride in caring for both homes and pets as if they were our own.

Harry spent much of his younger working life in the military, later retraining as a passenger boat skipper, working for several years on a vessel designed for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Marion enjoyed a successful career in retail management, where her attention to detail and caring nature made her a natural at creating welcoming, well-run spaces.

Now retired, we love to travel, explore new places, and live like locals discovering what makes each community special, especially those off the typical tourist trail.

Our Lifestyle:
We’re happiest when we’re walking, reading, cooking, and simply enjoying good food and good company. We’re passionate about local markets and love cooking with fresh ingredients we see food as a wonderful way to experience a new culture.

Over the years, we’ve also learned so much from the homes we’ve cared for from creative recycling ideas and clever home-heating tips to designing a better bird feeder! Every sit has given us inspiration to bring back to our own home.

We don’t currently have pets of our own, however we truly understand how much your pet means to you. House sitting allows us the joy of caring for animals whether that’s walking an energetic dog, cuddling a cat, or simply keeping a home feeling loved and lived in while owners are away.

For us, house sitting is about travel, it’s about making a connection with people, it's about trust, and caring for a home and its furry family members with genuine respect and affection. But it is also about putting you the host at ease while you are away. We do that, not just by doing a great job, but also by keeping in touch every day with photos and updates of your pet/s. When you return your home will be as you left it, your pets will be there, excited to be reunited with you.

We look forward to meeting new hosts and their pets, and to helping you travel with peace of mind knowing everything back home is in good hands.

Animals thrive on love and that’s exactly what we bring to every house sit. Having shared 12 wonderful years with our much-loved Jack Russell, we truly understand just how special pets are to their owners.

We have hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, hens, fish and donkeys, and we always treat each animal as if they were our own with kindness, patience, and genuine affection.

When we commit to a sit, you can rest assured that your home and pets will be in safe, caring, and reliable hands. We pride ourselves on being honest, trustworthy, and dependable and we’ll never let you down.

We’re happy to communicate through WhatsApp, email, or whatever method suits you best.

Both of us hold full, clean driving licenses, Garda (police) clearance, and we’re happy to provide references. We’ve also completed sits on other platforms, and you’ll find our references and verified testimonials from other platforms attached to our profile.

We have our own transport, so local house sits often work for us and if you’re nearby, we’d be delighted to meet in person for a friendly chat before the sit.

We’re an experienced, reliable couple with several years of both long and short-term house sitting behind us. Before joining this site we completed many successful sits (including repeat stays of up to six months), and we’re proud to share excellent references from previous homeowners.

We've minded dogs, cats, donkeys, hens, and fish. Were experienced with elderly animals, as well as administering medication.

We see our responsibilities as being two fold: Firstly to look after your pets and your home in a super professional manor. Secondly to keep you fully updated while your away with daily updates and pics, so that you can enjoy your holiday.

We bring over sixty years of life experience to our house sits, along with a simple philosophy: Treat every home even better than we treat our own.

We’re naturally clean, tidy, and respectful people, and we take pride in caring for both your home and your pets with genuine attention and responsibility.

We don’t currently own pets ourselves though we do occasionally foster donkeys for a local sanctuary which gives us the freedom and flexibility to travel and become your pet’s devoted temporary carers. Whether your pets need gentle affection, routine structure, or simply someone present and attentive, we’re there for them.

We’re very happy to arrange a Zoom call or a face-to-face meeting so we can all get to know each other, answer & ask any questions, and make sure it’s the right fit.
