Homeowner and animal experience looking for longer Canadian summer sit

About this sitter

We love to travel. We have been to New Zealand, England, Belgium, Scotland, Mexico, Belize, India, Italy, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Costa Rica, Spain, and Gibraltar. We may be missing one/some. We also love more local travel, we've been to about 12 US National Parks, as well as most of Canada (exceptions: Newfoundland/Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon. Raegan was actually born in Canada and therefore we travel there somewhat regularly. Raegan is a licensed professional in her field and takes her work and responsibilities quite seriously. We’re very responsible and we aim to exceed expectations in all that we do.
We have a dog of our own, as well backyard chickens. We also have a 5 year old son and a 2 year old daughter.
Vince is a mechanical engineer by training. He is also just a super handy guy. He has worked fixing and remodeling our Airbnb properties. He can fix nearly anything. His current project is a bathroom remodel to our current home built in 1902. He is a great asset to have in your home.

Why they want to house sit

Raegan currently has a position via teletherapy that meets our financial needs. Therefore, I’m available to accommodate your vacationing schedule in your home with fast, reliable Internet.
Also, the town we live in becomes a tourist destination in the summer, so we can rent our home out while we are away. We did this a previous summer when we were gone for about 7 weeks visiting family on the east coast.

Their experience

Well, to start with, we have extensive experience with horses. Specifically, Raegan ran her own horse boarding business for 5.5 years. She has been around horses since she was 3 months old. Raegan has also worked at a dude ranch and dealt with llamas and cattle as well. Additionally, Raegan has worked in large animal surgery as a technician.
Raegan has also volunteered in veterinary hospitals working with small animals. We have both had our own pets since we were little. Actually, Raegan asked for a dog, but was so little my parents figured I wouldn’t notice it was a cat that I received. We’ve also owned hamsters, a hedgehog, chickens, fish, guinea pigs, and parakeets.
We love animal behavior and we are constantly learning more about it. Raegan especially loves training animals. Our last dog was obedience trained, did some agility, and eventually received her canine good citizenship certificate and went to work with Raegan as a therapy dog daily. Our current dog, Hazel was a year and a half old when we rescued her and had the manners of an 8 week old puppy. We love to spoil our animals too. Hazel took a 7 week vacation with us during a past summer where we drove to North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia, and Ontario (and lots of places in between).

What can they bring to the assignment

As stated previously, extensive experience with pets/veterinary. Extensive experience with home ownership-about 20 years, including maintenance and repairs. We're active, energetic and very professional. We understand the pull of travel and the companionship of pets and how difficult it is to try to have a balance of the two and we want to help you with that.
