We are a couple that met years ago while living at a meditation retreat center and have been bouncing around to different centers and places since then. Carrie has dedicated her life to furthering organic agriculture and currently serves as Organic Program Manager to Nature’s Path Organic Foods. Daniel is wrapping up a decade of service to the mediation community & is preparing to leave a job as Operations Manager to Sky Lake Retreat Center under Shambhala Global. We are now looking to enjoy the nomad life while also enjoying animal companionship.

Why they want to house sit

Housesitting is a unique way to immerse oneself in & experience more of the world, and allows us to indulge our curiosity for different environments and cultures, which is a passion we share. A close second to that, practically tied, is the desire to spend time in the companionship of animal friends.

Their experience

We have both spent significant time living in and caring for shared spaces like retreat centers. Daniel for over 10 years with about 4 of those in a role combining administration and property/grounds management in a three story lodge on 20 acres in the Hudson Valley of New York. Over the years, Carrie has founded, participated in and cared for numerous centers & homesteads in the US & Mexico. Carrie has a green thumb and love for nature and plants, considering them beings in their own right, grounded in her years of experience in organic farming and food production throughout Latin America.

What can they bring to the assignment

We both have extensive experience of living in and caring for shared spaces due to our years of living in and helping shape communities. We also have a deep fondness and desire to care for animals and plants. We are:
