About this sitter
We are a semi retired couple with a comprehensive background in hospitality. Most recently we've been involved in ministry and the charity sector while living in a variety of intentional Christian communities. I'm a Brit who also holds a Canadian passport while Harry is Canadian and in process of becoming a UK citizen.
We are non-smokers who enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. And both hold full UK driving licenses.
We have found House Sitting to be a great way to help others while giving us the opportunity to have some time and space to ourselves.
Why they want to house sit
We no longer own our own home and are in a season where having our own pets is not a good fit, so loving other folks furry friends is a joy. We appreciate opportunities to travel and experience new and different places. Exploring the markets and cooking up local ingredients is a real treat for us. Harry is a chef and I love to eat!
Their experience
We have lots of experience both with MMH over the past 10 years as well as privately arranged sits for B&B's, Gite rentals, hobby farm and assorted pet and house sits in both North America and UK/Europe. As past hotel and restaurant managers with plenty of maintenance experience we're pretty resourceful.
What can they bring to the assignment

We are reliable, have great references, (everyone we've house sat for has asked us to come back), are dependable and self sufficient. We drive so usually bring our own car or rent one.
We've taken care of a variety of homes in both urban and rural settings. Most often we've looked after dogs and cats. But we have also cared for chickens, sheep, donkeys, ducks, a chinchilla, assorted birds, reptiles (we used to have an Iguana) a torantula and a toad.

Great house sitting Harold and Penny
Harold and Penny were both an absolute pleasure to meet. Joe and I hosted them the night before we went away to be more confident that things would run more smoothly, as well as the fact we had to catch an early flight. We left feeling very happy that our home and dogs would be well looked after and so on our return, everything was just as we had imagined it would be. Most importantly, our dogs were very happy! We would recommend these two lovely house sitters.

Lovely Couple
Harry and Penny looked after our house and animals while we were away on holiday. We returned to find all animals had no complaints about their carers and the house just as we left it. Harry is a great cook and we enjoyed their company and look forward to meeting them again some time.
