About this sitter
I'm a healthy retired 70 year old single woman. I love to cycle, hike, kayak and camp. I'm reliable, tidy and clean. I live in Florida and own my home. I usually go to the mountains most summers as it's very hot and humid here in Florida.
Why they want to house sit
I've had cats and dogs my entire life. When my last kitty, Lucy passed I was free to travel. I miss the company of animals. House/kitty & dog sitting is meeting my needs for the moment.

Yes, I have had cats and dogs my entire life. Mostly cats. Over the years I've taken care of friends pets. More recently I joined House Sitters of America. I have 3 sits through that site, 2 cats sits, and one dog. All with excellent reviews.
What can they bring to the assignment
I'll love your pet like it was my own, and keep you up to date on their well being. I'm clean and tidy and will take care of your home like it was my own.

Amazing house and cat sitting experience with Joan!
We could not have asked for a better home and cat sitter than Joan. Joan is incredibly kind, caring, clean, reliable, and courteous! She took good care of our house over the 12 days of her stay, leaving it even cleaner than when we left! It was an absolute dream to come back to after a long flight/journey. Joan took some time to meet with us before we left, and she was very attentive to all our cat and home instructions. We’re quite attached to our kitty, Kai, and we asked for frequent picture updates- she went above and beyond with our request and routinely sent us the cutest updates and pictures of Kai- making the sting of us being away from our fur baby a little less. We felt so at ease that Kai was in the loving and caring hands of Joan- we know when Kai has been well looked after. Kai would cuddle with her at night, allow her to give him belly rubs, and come to sit on her lap often, which we know he would only do when he feels completely safe and cared for. A true animal lover and an excellent, trustworthy home sitter. Should we need another home / pet sit, we would reach out to Joan in a heartbeat. We are lucky to have met her. Highly recommend and would welcome her back again! Thank you Joan!

Never had a moments worry
Never have we ever had a house sitter - and we have had so many wonderful sitters! - who loved our beloved Scruffy as much as we do. Pictures are worth 1000 words and Joan kept us updated at least twice a day with photos and videos that almost (almost!) made us want to cut our vacay short. Never had a moments worry about Scruffy, our house, our plants, and so on. We feel so fortunate to have connected with her!

Everything about this sit went smoothly. Great up front communication and attention to detail, with a huge dash of Care. This was Joan's first formal dog sit, after many cat sits, and she wanted Twix to be well cared for. Twix and I are easy and Joan fell in love. My only worry was, would Twix even want me to come home? Joan is a hiker and walked him 5-10 miles a day!! He fell in love with her as well. Joan uses soft, positive communications with animals and truly brings out their best behaviors. My plants were alive (always a happy plus for me) and the house was immaculate. My neighbors loved her and she made friends here in a short 2 weeks. Highly recommended and both Twix and I hope to see her again.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience
We feel so lucky to have connected with Joan! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is a true kitty lover through and through. (I think she is even on the 'kitty whisperer' level.). Joan spent 6 days at our home and sent us photo/text updates about our furry friends during that time. Our super shy outdoor boy even came in for her! That has never happened for any sitter ever (and we travel a lot!). On top of that, Joan was very conscious of her arrival time knowing that it can be stressful with last minute trip preparation. She also left our home super tidy for our HomeExchange guest arriving immediately after the sit. She truly went above and beyond. We can't recommend her enough and would love to have her back one day!

Joan was the perfect house and pet sitter!
Joan was the perfect house and pet sitter! I feel lucky that I found her! My skittish Sophie Cat took to Joan right away. She even got in her lap in an hour after they met. She truly is an animal lover and Sophie picked up on that right away. Joan was able to administer medicines to Sophie with no problem. She communicated with me often and even sent pictures of a very comfortable kitty while I was away. She also kept the home so neat and clean that I couldn't tell that anyone had even been here while I was away. I do hope I will be able to get a repeat sit from Joan in the future. I highly recommend her!
