About this sitter

Hello! I’m LaMisha, a former law enforcement officer, full-time mother, experienced traveler, and responsible house and pet sitter. I travel with my daughter, October, who is gentle, respectful, and especially fond of animals.

Since beginning our house-sitting journey, we have completed sits in California and internationally in Tokyo, Japan. House sitting has become a meaningful part of the way we travel. It allows us to experience communities at a slower pace while giving homeowners the comfort of knowing their home and pets are being treated with genuine care.

During our Tokyo sit, we cared for a dog, followed the homeowner’s established routines, took regular walks, and maintained the home throughout our stay. We have also cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, plants, and family homes through personal arrangements and previous house-sitting experiences.

I’m clean, calm, security-conscious, and comfortable following detailed instructions. My professional background taught me the importance of responsibility, communication, safety, and remaining composed when unexpected situations arise. I will provide updates while you are away and contact you promptly if anything needs your attention.

October understands that a house sit is a responsibility, not simply a vacation. She is gentle with animals, respectful of other people’s belongings, and happy to help with age-appropriate pet routines.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting fits naturally with our slow-travel lifestyle. Rather than rushing through destinations, my daughter and I enjoy settling into a community, following a daily routine, and experiencing what it is like to live there.

We also genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals. Because frequent travel does not currently allow us to have a pet of our own, house sitting gives us the opportunity to care for and bond with pets while providing a valuable service to their families.

For us, house sitting is an exchange built on trust. Homeowners receive dependable care for their home and animals, while we receive a safe and welcoming place to stay. We take that responsibility seriously and want every homeowner to feel comfortable and informed while they are away.

Their experience

I have previous house- and pet-sitting experience through TrustedHousesitters, including assignments in California and Tokyo, Japan. During these sits, I was responsible for maintaining the home, following the pets’ feeding and walking schedules, providing companionship, and respecting the homeowner’s individual instructions.

Before joining formal house-sitting platforms, I worked as a nanny and babysitter for families with pets. Those positions required me to manage household routines, care for children and animals, keep spaces clean, and communicate responsibly with families.

I have experience with dogs, cats, and rabbits, as well as watering plants, collecting mail, maintaining home security, and keeping homeowners updated during their travels.
