About this sitter
We are Barbara and Wilson. Retired, adventurous travelers. We like house sitting because it gives us an opportunity to visit an area in a very local and intimate way. Having lived in France for nearly a decade in the 1990s, we are anxious to get back to visiting Europe.
Why they want to house sit
We enjoy discovering new places and landscapes. The beach, mountains, rolling hills, flatlands, cities, towns, and villages... When traveling, we much prefer to be in a neighborhood, learning local customs and getting to know the people. We also prefer the pace, since it allows us to slow down and enjoy.
Their experience
Wilson grew up on a farm and is very familiar and comfortable with most animals, including horses, cattle, chickens and most farm animals. Barbara has had pets all of her life including a Great Dane and a monkey. Over the last several years we have completed numerous house sits including a horse sit caring for 16 horses, a donkey, six cats and a dog. Wilson also volunteers at a horse recovery center.

We have welcomed house sitters in our own home over the past 3 years to care for our late Pocket English Setter, Lily. So we understand firsthand what is expected when someone is in your home and caring for your furry and feathery friends. We are reliable, trustworthy, and good communicators. Barbara and Wilson took amazing care of our home and of Finn. Finn took to them right away and seemed to have a great time with them while we were gone. The house was immaculate when we came home which was so nice after a long day of travel. They are communicative, trustworthy, and just good people. We hope they will return to the island soon!

I would definitely have them back
Barbara and Wilson were so easy to communicate with before and during the sit. They arrived on time, and when I came home, Daisy didn’t seem to notice me. She looked very comfy with them and she can be shy. They mixed salmon oil in her food, gave her the extra supplements like ground beef that I requested and even tried to train her to sit. She did better for Wilson than she does with me. My house was in better shape then when I left, even though it was clean then too. Wilson took out the recycling for me which I had not requested, but was surely nice. Neighbors told me that they saw them walking Daisy every morning and evening. I would definitely have them back and might even want to be here myself😊

Barbara and Wilson are everything you could want and more! They are incredibly kind, communicative and left our home cleaner than when they arrived. They are very considerate and thoughtful, and we would welcome them back anytime. Our dog was very well cared for and so was our home. We highly recommend Barbara and Wilson!

Barbara & Wilson were super! We became friends, not just a 'business' relationship of petsitter and owner! They are organized and communicative so the handoff was smooth. Routine can be imperative to a horse's well-being. Upon getting home, I knew our horses had received good care because they seemed relaxed and content - like we had never left! We have a big farm and it can be overwhelming - Barb & Wilson handled it with ease and confidence! I think everyone got along fantastically and Barbara & Wilson had fun on the farm too! They are simply fantastic folks!

Barbara and Wilson were wonderful. They took such great care of our dog, left the house very clean and tidy, and were very flexible with us when we had an unexpected change in schedule. We would highly recommend, and love to have them back!
