About this sitter

We are Barbara and Wilson. Retired, adventurous travelers. We like house sitting because it gives us an opportunity to visit an area in a very local and intimate way. Having lived in France for nearly a decade in the 1990s, we are anxious to get back to visiting Europe.

Why they want to house sit

We enjoy discovering new places and landscapes. The beach, mountains, rolling hills, flatlands, cities, towns, and villages... When traveling, we much prefer to be in a neighborhood, learning local customs and getting to know the people. We also prefer the pace, since it allows us to slow down and enjoy.

Their experience

Wilson grew up on a farm and is very familiar and comfortable with most animals, including horses, cattle, chickens and most farm animals. Barbara has had pets all of her life including a Great Dane and a monkey. Over the last several years we have completed numerous house sits including a horse sit caring for 16 horses, a donkey, six cats and a dog. Wilson also volunteers at a horse recovery center.

We have welcomed house sitters in our own home over the past 3 years to care for our late Pocket English Setter, Lily. So we understand firsthand what is expected when someone is in your home and caring for your furry and feathery friends. We are reliable, trustworthy, and good communicators.
