About this sitter
I am a retired white English man and I am registering on this site for the first time. Since I have retired I have started to enjoy travelling more and have recently returned from a holiday in southern Italy visiting the archeological site of Pompei as well as Herculaneum, Vesuvius and exploring the Amalfi coast. In two years time I plan to visit Brazil and book a tour to the Pantanel region with the hope of seeing Jaguar,Caman Crocodile as well as the other wildlife. I don't intend to spend my retirement sitting at home tending to the roses.
My wife Barbara also has a passion for travelling and loves animals, probably more than I and would sometimes join me but loves to travel separately also.
Why they want to house sit
I would love to combine travel with looking after peoples pets/ family members as it will give me the opportunity to get a sense of different parts of Europe, the world but also my own country.
Their experience
My wife, Barbara and I have recently returned from house sitting for three and a half weeks in Germany, looking after two cats,a house and gardens. We have looked after friends and neighbours animals and homes whilst they have been away. Not just in my own neighborhood but other parts of England.
I also have experience with smaller furry friends as well as on occasions rescuing wildlife from the clutches of my own cat Bramble who sadly passed away recently. This has given me time and space to travel more and visit friends without having to worry about leaving him for too long.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am honest and trustworthy. I have a natural affinity with people and animals. I also have my own large garden and an allotment as such am knowledgeable about looking after both house plants, shrubs and other plants including vegetables.

Cat sitting and care for home, garden and holiday house
Peter und seine Frau Barbara haben in vorzüglicher Weise auf unser Heim und unsere 2 Katzen für eine Dauer von mehreren Wochen im Sommer 2025 aufgepasst und wir haben uns durchweg gut entspannen können während unserer Urlaubszeit. Die Katzen waren bestens versorgt, sie haben ausreichend Zuwendung bekommen und sie haben uns auch immer wieder ein Foto hier und da zukommen lassen. Die beiden sind äußerst verlässlich. Auch die Kommunikation vor dem Housesitting funktionierte reibungslos. Da Peter Gartenliebhaber ist, war auch die Versorgung unseres doch größeren Areals in besten Händen (Pflanzengießen, Hausbetreuung technischer Art zählten zu seinen von sich aus übernommenen Aufgaben neben der Katzenversorgung). Auch die Fürsorge für die Gästehäuser und die Gäste (wir vermieten Ferienhäuser) konnte weiterlaufen durch Peters und Barbaras einfühlsame und klare Kommunikation. Sogar das Vorbereiten und Putzen des Ferienhauses haben die beiden übernommen. Da sie die Natur und Ruhe lieben, haben sie unseren Ort hier auch als Ferienort nutzen können, um wieder aufzutanken. Sie sind sehr angenehme, gesellige und ehrliche (im Herzen) Menschen. Sie gaben uns das Gefühl, dass wir ohne Weiteres noch länger im Urlaub hätten bleiben können. Auch dass sie im Folgejahr wiederkommen werden und wir uns auch darüber freuen, ist hier eine schöne und wertvolle Freundschaft und Verbindung entstanden, die wir nicht missen wollen. Wir bedanken uns von Herzen.
