About this sitter

I am conscientious, communicative, with a positive outlook on life. I am in my mid-40s and slowed down after 20 years of work madness in music and academia. I picked up crochet, I enjoy reading, writing (I published a novel), being a substitute teacher in school, and occasionally doing volunteer work. I am single and own a small house in the outskirts of Rome, Italy.
I spend most of my time at home. What I love about house sitting is that I get to sit in homes other than mine, and this makes it interesting. Then, when I go out for a walk, I always see new things. For me, this is not about holidays or tourism. It's about immersing myself in the daily life of places I've never seen.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting has turned out to be an enriching experience on a personal level. I have learned a lot, and I have met incredible people. I like to travel, but I don't need to house sit to do it. House sitting is intentional. I really like the idea of being of service, making myself useful, while enjoying a break from my daily routine.
Reason number two, I LOVE cuddling with the kitties. It's all about them. I call them my "clients" and everything revolves around them, first and foremost. Some cats I sat for will remain in my heart forever and I love that their owners send me updates to this day.

Their experience

I am. I had cat sat occasionally before joining MindMyHouse, then since joining the platform I have cat sat back to back for the better part of 2025.
I specialize in cats. All my reviews mention that the house was left in spotless condition, which makes me proud. I keep in touch daily unless instructed otherwise. I have looked after young and senior cats, 1 to 3 cats at a time, in apartments and houses, healthy cats and cats that required medication in their food or insulin injections. One of the cats was going blind, I was afraid it would be a challenge but it turned out to be my best sitting experience of all.
I know how to trim nails. I have used regular litter boxes and robotic ones.
In terms of owners, I have met all sorts of people, from the easy going and those who like to give very detailed instructions. There's a lot of tuning into what clients want, adapting my style to their style. This is a crucial part of being a professional sitter, in my opinion.
I am pretty good with plants, both flowers and vegetables. I once had to handle a rat infestation. I am handy and can fix small things around the house.

What can they bring to the assignment

I have a strong sense of duty. I take the responsibility of looking after your property and/or beloved pet very seriously. I respond to messages swiftly. I don't like to assume, I prefer to ask. If there's a problem, I consult with you. I am discreet around people's property, and I am mindful of my water and electricity usage. I am used to separating waste and I can keep a house clean. I always stay at home overnight and I share many (like, many) pictures and videos of your pets on a daily basis, but can adjust to your needs.
