About this sitter

We are a husband & wife team - Ian & Anna - who enjoy visiting different areas of the UK and worldwide now that our children have grown.

Anna is retired from her garden design business but is still passionate about gardening and interiors. She spent a decade, when her children were little, running a smallholding complete with chickens, geese and Tamworth pigs. She loves to cook and would be delighted to make a meal for your return (if you’d like). You may even find some baked goodies too!

Ian still works remotely as a chartered engineer. He loves being outside and is abit of a ‘lawn enthusiast’ if truth be told! He will happily mow and strim your lawn, rake leaves and generally look after your garden. Ian is a real softy around animals…a real Dr Doolittle!

Why they want to house sit

We have just completed our first housesit for a super couple in Skye and we loved it!
Having the opportunity to stay in someone’s home, to care for it and their animals as if it were our own home, whilst enjoying a different area is so enjoyable. It’s all an adventure and at our age (late fifties) life’s all about that for us.

Their experience

As mentioned above, we have only done this the once but we are a mature couple who own a beautiful old Listed Hall in Cumbria so we know how to look after a property with care and attention. Anna has a lot of experience with livestock and farm animals and both of us with small animals. We are enthusiastic gardeners.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are responsible, reliable and would care for your property as if it were our own. We enjoy looking after livestock and small animals (Anna especially loves fish & birds). We would keep you updated on any issues we felt you should know about and are equally happy to send daily updates if you would prefer.

Testimonials

Excellent sitters

Anna and Ian were excellent sitters. They communicated well before and during the sit. They arrived on time and took on board the routines and jobs to do. Unfortunately just before we left we had an electrical issue but they coped well with having an extension cable to power the kitchen and we felt happy to leave things in their capable hands. Anna was very good in the garden with my seedlings and tomato plants. The birds and pigs were well looked after and the house was spotless on our return. We would love them to come again
