About this sitter

We are Glen (36), Anyes (35), and our 6 months old daughter Manaia an adventurous family travelling around Australia in our self-contained Toyota Coaster bus. Glen is a qualified glazier by trade, an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, beekeeping, surfing and has a strong practical skill set. Anyes shares a deep love of animals and nature, having volunteered at a wildlife rescue centre in Australia and an elephant sanctuary in Thailand and has a good all round work ethic with a broad range of experience (including cleaning). We are seeking peaceful, tidy home sits where we can care for pets, tend to gardens, and give your home the same attention and respect we give our own. For us, house sitting provides a meaningful way to travel slowly and support others while building genuine connections with people and places.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting is the perfect way for our family to explore Australia while contributing something valuable to others. It gives us a chance to enjoy time off the road, provide loving care to animals, and help homeowners feel confident their home is in safe hands. As a travelling family, we also appreciate the opportunity to enjoy a stable, home-like environment now and then for our child. For us, house sitting is about trust, community, and being part of something purposeful as we travel.

Their experience

Yes. In New Zealand, we house sat for several homeowners while hiking the Te Araroa Trail, gaining hands-on experience caring for pets, gardens, and homes along the way. Glen grew up on family farms caring for animals, keeps bees, enjoys fishing, and has volunteered at a dog shelter during his travels. Anyes grew up with multiple pets and has volunteered at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand and a wildlife rescue centre in Australia. She is also an avid hiker, having completed the entire Te Araroa Trail and many other hikes. Together, we bring practical skills, animal care experience, and a respectful, responsible approach to every house sit.

What can they bring to the assignment

We bring warmth, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility. You can expect regular updates if desired, a spotless home upon return, and loving attention to your pets and property. Glen’s trade background and rural upbringing mean he’s comfortable with general maintenance, animal care, and outdoor tasks. Anyes is gentle, attentive, and has great instincts with animals and plants. We're clean, quiet, non-smoking, and live lightly thanks to our self-sufficient van. Most importantly, we’ll treat your home and pets as if they were our own — with care, respect, and gratitude. We are more than happy to have a video call with you to see if we would be a good match for you.
