About this sitter

My name is Lisa, I'm a caring and dedicated sitter. I have a natural empathy and affinity with animals. I enjoy the simple pleasure of being with a pet or around other animals. I love exploring new places and am a big nature lover. I guess I can be described as a bit of a cat woman, having been lucky enough to have had 6 cats of my own. I now prefer now to travel and spend time with other people's pets. My calm nature and natural empathy drew me to a previous career within the emergency services. I rise to challenges, with bags of common sense and remain unphased if things don't always go to plan.
I am happy in my own company, though preferably with a pet friend to share the space with. or cuddle up to. This makes that even more special. I am looking mainly for either house only sits, with cats or other domestic animals other than dogs.

Why they want to house sit

Now I am not working, I really want to explore new places whilst meeting some wonderful pets and people along the way. Of course staying in lovely homes is also a big bonus!
For years I had been a frustrated traveller so I'm taking the opportunity whilst I now have the time. Choosing to travel, means I prefer not to have a responsibility of a pet. This does mean I miss having a pet of my own so doing both has to be a great solution.

Their experience

I have been pet sitting on a regular basis since July 2020. I have completed many successful sits, always asked to return for future sits. I allowed my membership on this site to lapse as I had enough interest and contacts to keep me busy without looking for new sits. I am More than happy to provide names for references from previous and on going sits. I have now re-joined this site as I'm looking for some adventures in new places which I haven't visited before.
I have cared for cats, dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits and even a tortoise. In additional to this I have volunteered with 2 animal rescue centres. The first one for 2 years caring for domestic, wildlife and farm animals. My newest role of a few months involves socialising kittens and cats for potential new homes. I also have been volunteering on an community allotment project for 3 years plus so I am not phased, in fact enjoy, looking after someone's garden for them too. I have had 6 cats of my own which were adored and lived long happy lives with me. I have become a family and friend favourite sitter their dogs, cats and other domestic animals.

What can they bring to the assignment

I can bring peace of mind to the home and pet owner. I'm a person who demonstrates compassion and easily forms strong bonds with animals to make them feel secure and loved whilst their owner is away. I offer an animal centred approach, meaning that their routine and individual medical or dietary needs are my priority. I am diligent in following instructions on pet and home care.
I will treat any with respect, as I do my own. I don't allow other people to stay whilst I am there. I am a quiet and mature so you can be assured that there will be no disruption or noise. I make a point of giving your home a final through clean before I leave.
