About this sitter
I am an English teacher taking a sabbatical for the 2025-26 year to travel. As someone who is naturally a homebody, house & pet sitting will be the perfect way to find balance during my year abroad. I grew up with animals - 2 cats, a dog, hamsters, and fish. I also grew up in a horse town, so I've helped out with friend's horses and other farm animals.
Why they want to house sit
I had a couple house sit for me a few years ago, and I talked to them about their previous house sitting experiences. They shared all the places they have visited, animals they have gotten to know, and positive experiences they have had.
Now that I'm leaving my home behind for a year, I want to find ways to feel at home abroad. Housesitting is a great way to experience what it is like to live somewhere. Traveling can become too focused on inauthentic experiences, and I want to immerse myself in the everyday life of a place. I also love animals, and I know I will miss having downtime with animals during my travels.
Their experience
While I haven't house sat for anyone through a website, I have taken care of friends' animals. I also owned a cat for his life time (over 15 years). I also own a home and run an Airbnb out of one part of it, so I know how to take care of a space.
I also had a couple, whom I found through a different website, housesit for me a few years ago. Because of this experience, I know how to communicate expectations and work with new people.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am responsible, clean, caring, and quiet. I will treat your home as you would treat it and give your animals the attention and care they deserve.

Let's do it again!
Mckenzie and I met via video call, and after that everything was sorted. Communication was flawless both beforehand and during her stay in my flat. My two cats were looked after very well and my flat was left in tip-top condition! I’m particularly grateful that Mckenzie was so flexible when one of my cats suddenly needed medication whilst I was away. Lovey easy going sitter
Mckenzie took care of my two cats for a week. We met the day before I left and had a great chat. She's easy to communicate with, relaxed and great at taking care of the pets and home. The cats were happy and well looked after. She even put on clean sheets for my return, which I was so grateful for after traveling. I'd highly recommend her as a sitter.
