About this sitter

I am 76 years young and looking to spend some time out of New Zealand. (* all photos are recent 18 months). I have completed a sit in NewZealand, and I have a further sit in September. I only sit during nz school
Holidays as I still teach.Currently, I share a house with my sister, and sometimes it is great to get away from each other. As a teacher of ESOL, English and Social Studies, I want to travel at times (or all) over the long Christmas break November 25 to end January.2026. I have travelled to many places in the world and I am comfortable meeting and communicating with a range of people. Currently I speak only English fluently.
I have a married daughter (who is a teacher)and three grandsons . I am relatively fit, able to cycle and kayak, mostly I enjoy walking.

Why they want to house sit

I want to continue traveling and gaining experiences in new settings. I would like to be able to share my culture and abilities while learning from new people and places. At the same time, I am a responsible professional person and I will be a safe and responsible person to care for your home.

Their experience

My experience now is a 2 week sit in Napier NZ and a further 2 weeks in Tauranga NZ in September. Both sits include caring for small dogs.. Photo on my profile is of Tilly my house sit in Napier dog. This experience I am adding to my profile and demonstrate my ability to successfully house sit for others. I prefer small animals to mind
I am booked to sit in Nelson nz from 18-30 December- this is a different site ( kiwi house sit) so my completed sits are not showing, nor my testimonials.

What can they bring to the assignment

I can bring an outgoing person able to adapt to most situations. I have long experience both in New Zealand and internationally as a teacher, lecturer, Principal, Director of Schools. I have project managed the development of new schools intentionally. My BEd. and Business degrees have allowed me to gain wide experience in management and in education. Each assignment will be different and what I can offer will be able to be ascertained at time of selection.
