About this sitter

I've included some photos to help knit together my story. I'm 70 something, very fit, and well able to travel. Currently living in Colorado where I hike, ride my bike, care for my yard, enjoy an abundance of wildlife and share my home with one pup, one cat. Prior, I owned a 13 acre farm in north Georgia where I enjoyed our horse, Loki, several goats, chickens, many dogs and cats and the frequent wildlife rescued.
Initially, I'll be responding to sitting opportunities in North America where I've longed to visit or revist once again. Caring for other's pets will be natural for me as I haven't been without dogs, cats, and various other critters in my adult life and enjoy their company.

Why they want to house sit

House sitting will give me the opportunity to travel without blowing my retirement resources and add purpose to my being away from my own home and furry lovies.
The photo of me and the handsome guy by the river; I lost him Nov. 3, 2024 to dementia/Parksinson's/ heart failure and I'm hopeful solo travel in a home environment with pets to love on will be more comforting than a hotel hustle.

Their experience

In caring for pets...very! In caring for a "home away from home", I've owned several properties that I've rented to others and understand what an owner expects from a guest.
While I'll be new to this group, I often care for my daughter's 3 pups and 2 cats in their absence, my son's 2 senior dogs and 2 small grandkids when they travel.

What can they bring to the assignment

Well, if you are looking for someone to spend time with your pets, to get to know them and understand their wants and needs, I'm good at that. I like to read so hanging out is no problem. I love to walk so I can promise at least 5,000 human steps, 2x a day for their recreation. I don't stay up late, do get up early, and sleep light enough to handle 3am potty turn-outs.
